Custers problem isn't his ability to play pg. He's shown he can do that at a big 12 level. It's on the defensive end that's the problem. When he was in against Gstate he picked up a foul within seconds. Since he's kind of short he's going to need to pick it up and be in better position.

Custer shouldn't have RS'd, the Greek probably should have, if only for the fact that he's tossing a year of eligibility away. Its only been 2 games but he just doesn't look big 12 ready

I really think that the year of eligibility will not matter. Either Giorgios will show enough for the NBA to take a flyer on a 7 footer before his eligibility is up or he will go back to Europe and make money. I will be surprised if he uses all four years of his eligibility up here despite not redshirting.

In my opinion, Custer's playing time doesn't necessarily come down to how good Custer is, but how good the people are in front of him. Monte Morris might be our MVP this year. He plays such good D and he always makes such smart plays. 19 points, 9 assists, on 7/9 shooting last night - all while playing 37 minutes (which is all but garbage time pretty much). I also think Monte only had 1 foul, which is just amazing to me holding a guy who will probably average 20+ this year to 12 points on 6/22 shooting. We cannot afford to have Monte on the bench in close games. Fred has said this numerous times. So hopefully we blow a lot of people out so Custer can get some minutes in his natural position.

Gorgios has said he wants to go to school. I don't see him giving up his education to go play euro ball for not much money. I think it's usually smart to give up free school for a 1st round payday from the NBA, but not for a Euro paycheck.

Fair enough, but if he is truly wanting to get the education, does he necessarily need 5 years to do it? - Consider that he probably won't go back to Greece every summer so he can take summer school classes to make sure he graduates in four.

By the way, sorry for misspelling your name, Georgios. I think I have seen it spelled a half dozen ways but I will assume you prefer the spelling that ISU has used.

That foul was BS though - the bigger issue is that he's going to have to get used to the fact that being a freshman he's gonna get attacked a bit more by opposing teams unless and until he shows he can handle it. Only way to get better is by playing through it. Heck, the first couple of games Morris played last year he looked a little dazed too. I'm not worried about Custer.

Tsalmpouris just needs to get that 'mean streak' people were talking about. He's like a 7'1" Clyburn right now - almost like he is afraid to shoot it...he'll learn the ways of Hoiball and then in 2 years we'll all be very, very happy he's here.

I think Giorgos will be like Edozie was last year. Obviously different kinds of players, but Edozie looked like he was uncomfortable out there a lot of the time last year. This year, he looks extremely confident and comfortable. Hopefully Giorgos can make the same progression

What? He's a kid with about 15 minutes of PT in 3 blowouts. Nothing against CC, I hope he is the next Jacy Holloway or better. But he hasn't proved jack yet - because he hasn't been here long enough to do so. Let's maybe let him play a bit and see what happens. I haven't seen enough of him to develop any kind of opinion about him, skills wise.

Custer has 5 minutes of PT total across the two real games so far. No clue what the other poster thinks he has "shown he can do at a Big 12 level" in the garbage time he's seen.

Kool aid is delicious this time of year. I'm drinking it by the gallons but I agree Custer has a lot to prove. He seems to have the talent from talk/high school, but until he is given the opportunity to prove it on the court he needs to be taken off the pedestal.

Thought he looked very small on the court compared to most of the others last night. What is his supposed height?

When has Custer shown he is a big 12 level PG? I'm confused
