Our current 133 and 141 are classic examples of great progression and development. Ech also has came a long ways.

Last couple of heavies have progressed very well.

Of course some guys that havent developed very well but you’ll have that in every program.
I'd also say PJ has developed. Carr did as well imo. Winning his weight last year was epic

I stand corrected then... no biggie. Just trying to understand our issues? We seem to be recruiting pretty good talent here... so what is the issue??

Right now our main issue has been injuries , Chittum was injured early as well , shuffling weights due to injuries and the inability to fill 165 from the portal although Euton at 165 was promising but is injured .

Right now it’s an injury issue at several weights.

We would have had a top 20 guy at 165. Think if he stays healthy MJ goes 174 several weeks sooner and who knows what happens after that.

Those two weights are key issues. Then obviously 197 has issues, heavyweight we would have had a top 5 guy.

Not going to include 141 at the moment because who knows how that would have shaken out and I think our current 141 is pretty darned good.

So what is with all the injuries?? Do all teams have this problem? Or just a freak thing for us this year?

It’s kind of hard to accept when you see Penn State, Iowa and Okie State roll out 98% of their starters this time of year.

We seem to deal with injury (specifically concussions - pretty sure we’ve lost at least one presumed or possible starter to concussion protocol every year, all the way back to Gomez) and weight management issues far more than the upper crusts we should be in the conversation with.

Iowa has dealt with plenty of injuries over the years.
Penn State feels like the remarkable one that doesn't have the injuries that we have dealt with. Penn State is also deeper than any program in the nation.

I think the staff needs to review the offseason work that they do and benchmark against what PSU does. David is friends with Brooks and has trained in Happy Valley in the offseason before. Not saying everything needs to change, but can’t hurt to see what they’re doing and potentially implement those training styles into our room. I know the guys go really hard essentially year round which can be hard on an athletes body, but that’s also why generally Dresser teams are better conditioned than the opposition

Outside of Teemer, whose injury was a fluky, in action injury, Iowa is essentially full strength. Meanwhile, we are possibly missing 40 - 67% of our starters.

165- I’d argue he would have had a floor at top 20 with a pretty high ceiling.

lil and big frosty as well
Not trying to start anything, but how have the Frost boys “developed” so far?

Evan was an all-American as a RS freshman, and since then has been in and out of the lineup for whatever reason - weight or something. Jacob was logically behind a AA/title contender guy until this year.

Did you watch them wrestle as true freshmen? Massive jump from their true freshman year to where they are now. Nobody had Evan as an AA last year. The staff did a tremendous job developing him to get him to being at that level

Is Brands injured or is he out for another reason - honest question

I did. Sadly, I’ve not seen a lot this year, mostly because I can’t actually watch them due to the way wrestling is produced (for lack of a better word). All I know this year is that Evan hasn’t been a regular in the lineup, for whatever reason.
