Just noticed on Cyclones.com, they have the Kent St. game time slated for 6pm. Has that been up for awhile or was it recently updated? I have to go to a wedding that afternoon, so it works out great for me.

That's the million dollar question! We tried to find a date for our wedding during the fall but we had to work around ISU and NU football (wife's family are huskers.)

As a result weddin gwas moved up to a summer wedding!

Personally, I love a night game. Was talking to Travis about it this past weekend, the early start of the Iowa game got it started.

He and the vast majority of the players (including coaches) would rather play at 11am than 6pm. No surprise there.

But IMO, the atmosphere of a night game is hard to match.

Excellent, first two home games will include all day long tailgating!

Damn, I was hoping that would be an afternoon game since I have to play a gig that night. This also means I'll have a tiny crowd at my concert.

I don't get super into tailgating so I really don't like night games. It just takes forever to get home as well because nobody wants to stay in Ames since it's already late.

Night games in early fall = awesome. It will still feel like summer so tailgating in the sun all day!

Night games in late fall = suck... Mad cold.

Just my 2 cents

But if you play night games in the late months, you are probably doing something right.

A few night games are ok but if that is all you have it gets old.

I have never understood how people can plan a fall wedding. I know a lot of people dont care if there is game or not but someone will be mad they didnt get to go to the game. I know you cant please everyone.

I had a friend get married during the miracle of the ISU Iowa comback game and he was an ISU grad! you would think you would know better. His wife is a Husker fan. After the ISU game the Huskers played Penn St. I think there was 6 people at the reception until football got over.

I was at a wedding last year on the day of the ISU vs. Toledo and Iowa vs. Wisconsin game. We were at the WDM Sheraton and they have a pretty big lobby and bar area with multiple TVs on.

The ISU game wasn't on obviously but the Iowa game was and with most of the people at the wedding from southeast Iowa you can imagine how poorly attended the reception was after dinner. Kind of funny to see. All the women were talking and all the men were watching the game.

we got married the wknd of the oklahoma game last year. got to watch the beginning before pictures, had my bestman (also ISU fan) listening on the radio updating us frequently during the pictures. we tried to get the priest to play the game over the church speakers during pictures. she thought about it but my wife not so much. if looks could kill. that idea got shot down pretty quick. i am willing to bet JC would have liked to listen to that game, until the 4th quarter. the bast part was missing the Iowa/ISU game for a different wedding and they didnt even come to ours. still havent talked to them since, with no plans to either!!!

My brother is getting married this September. I jokingly told him last fall when he got engaged to make sure there wasn't an ISU game at home that weekend. He did!!!! God Bless the little man!!

I had a roommate up at UNI who got married during an ISU vs. Iowa game. I felt bad about not going to the wedding, but I sure had a good time in Iowa City, even though Iowa was killing us.
