I don't understand why we even try to shoot outside at all. We have such great strength and power down low...yet rarely use it. I know you have to shoot outside to open up inside, yet we are taking way to many shots outside for what we could do down low.

I don't know how the statistics changed after the Iowa game, but going in we were 2nd in the nation in 3PT FG%.

Where is this inside power? Dendy is a garbage guy and Craig likes do drift away from the basket and shoot threes or turnarounds. We don't have power unless you put Hamilton in that category.

:biglaugh: Hamilton is WEAK! He just lets other guys push him around. I think he will replace Diante as the guy I complain about this year.

Hamilton is still learning--sometimes you can see the gears moving out there. Love what we've seen of his developing offensive game, though--the little hooks, backing a guy down, and he looks like he can shoot facing the basket as well. Right now we just don't need or ask (or want) him to do this stuff, so we don't see it--and he doesn't force it. Loved watching Brackins give Hamilton some tips during the warmups a few games ago. Hamilton has such a high ceiling--just can't teach a lot of what he brings to the table. There is a reason he keep starting...plus screaming HAM-SLAMWICH after he dunks is waaaay too much fun. </end Hamilton support rant>

Ham will continue to improve. You're right about him being a good team player and knowing his role isn't going to be our first option at anytime. Saw him play in high school and he did the same thing back then. Does the dirty stuff that doesn't pat stats and gets the ball to scorers. Still think he'll be the go to guy before he graduates.

What i like about Dendy and Gilstrap is that they want to cut/get to the hoop. The last couple years we havnt had that at all in a player except for Brackins of course. Dendy runs the court real well. He is always in the mix of things down low. I think the key thing this year will be if Dendy and Gilstrap can stay mentally tough enough throughout the game. They both have the athleticism but they need to stay calm under pressure.
