You guys go ahead and live in fear. I feel like we should win this game by 10+ points.

This is where I'm at. I feel that ISU makes a statement early and takes the crowd out by the end of the first quarter. Our defense is due for a big turn-over game and as much as UCONN likes to give the ball away, I see it getting ugly for them fairly quickly out of the gate. Also, they know they will be playing on ESPN. What kid isn't going to be amped about that? I expect ISU to play tough and to win by 2+ TD's.

Agreed. It's not going to be an easy game by any stretch. I know UCONN is not too great, but it's a long trip for us, with one day less to prepare, we just had a huge, emotionally- and physically-taxing win, and we're playing under the bright lights of ESPN.

I'm expecting a close, ugly game, but hopefully the Clones stay focused and do what they need to do.

3-0 heading into the bye week would be boss.

Does the team walk there? Are they leaving on Friday? Seriously, everyone needs to shut up about the 'long trip.' Travel will not play a factor.

Won't both teams have the same time to prepare? Or does UCONN magically get an extra day somehow?

Statements like these show that people don't see us as a bad program, but a good one. Embrace it. Sure, I am nervous that we can do the same thing we did last week again on a road game. But, don't fear expectations.

I agree. What we've seen the past two weeks is a couple things in action. One is the obvious upgrade in talent at the quarterback position for Herman's offense. I say this with respect to Arnaud and his career but Jantz is better. The second is the continued change in player mindset as Rhoads builds his program. We probably don't win those past two games under Chizik or Mac. For the two reasons mentioned above. Iowa State is getting better. Any long time Cyclone fan should be able to see this. It's great people on the outside can because to them it should look even more profound. I'm excited for Iowa State not just hopeful anymore. Clean up some mistakes and we'll be in games that traditionally we wouldn't be in. That's huge. At some point Iowa State has to have outside expectations and meet those expectations to become a better more consistent program. We have a long ways to go but things sure look different to me from decades past. I think they look different to the Dodds of the world as well. I love Rhoads!!!

I would love nothing more than for us to go out and have a huge game on Friday and make some people say, "THIS is the team that everybody thinks is destined for exile from a BCS conference?!"

We could win the Iowa game with Mac. Remember 2002 ?

Nice to see you on the high point on your roller coaster. I'm sure the first thing to go wrong will have you declaring that the game is lost.
After Saturday...I don't think I can do that again. Steele Jantz has changed my views. With Steele at the helm, we are never out of a game. Even if we are down 10 in the 4th quarter.

Never get too high, and never get too low.

We are still an underdog according to the odds makers.

Coming off an emotional victory is always a challenge, and we haven't taken care of the ball in our first two games. If we can win the turnover battle that will be a big plus in our favor. I can't wait for Friday.

Should be a nice first road game fir Jantz. Really give us a boost going into the bye to prepare for Texas.

Irony - you marked Iowa down as a loss as soon as ISU went down 7-0. Not only that, but criticized the rest of us maintaining faith in the team because "we just don't understand". Now you're criticizing people for "living in fear"? Like I said, irony.

Not that I'm afraid of Friday - I think we systematically dismantle UConn on Friday...

I seem to remember when ISU overlooked a UConn team in 2002 and they whipped us at JTS putting us in the Freeze Your ***** Off Bowl. This UConn team is not a cupcake and I do not expect ISU to win this one.

That's what Clones21 does. I called it at the beginning of the year. He did the same thing last year in MBB @ Iowa. It's really kind of pathetic.

What else is pathetic is you guys bringing it back up. I mean seriously. Your screen name is named after the crappiest coach in the history of basketball. With Steele Jantz...we are never EVER out of a game. He proved that to me Saturday.

I feel cautiously optimistic about our chances with Uconn. No way we go on the road and win pretty on a short week after beating iowa.

First of all *******, my screen name is my name. So before you go spouting off, maybe you should know all of the facts.

You are the epitome of bandwagon fan. You are only "high" on ISU when they are winning. Any sign of adversity and you are quick to "disown" the team. You, my friend, are not a TRUE Cyclone.

I'm glad I was at the game, that way I wouldn't have had the chance to participate in the game thread, but I know exactly how it went. "Steele fumbles, Iowa scores, Clones21 claims the game a loss and starts whining"

I really hope the next time you get banned, it's for life. You are a cancer to this board and our fan base. It's sickening.

I'm not the only one that feels this way on this board. In fact, I'd be quick to wager a majority of my own real money that out of the serious posters on this board (ones that post pretty much daily), at least HALF would feel the same way about you that I do.

Do us a favor, stop posting on here.

I don't know him, but I'd bet that's his actual last name. For the record, he doesn't need to clarify his name here for us. There is really no chance that it's based on GMac.

This post right here shows me you have as much of an anger problem than I do. Good job bud.
