Good teams struggle with injuries, great teams overcome those injuries and other players step up and pick up the slack. This was a good team, nothing more, and will be a "what if" for many of us. You just cannot give up a 20-2 run and expect to come out on top. Call a time out or two, run a set play, whatever it takes to to not let the run continue. That was Fran coaching few moments and it buried us, allowed them to get confidence and we never recovered. ISU was a better teams than what we showed the nation tonight.

I love how some of you say we won't compete in the nil era but somehow Houston gets it done.

Totally disappointing. No Regular Season Championship, no Big XII Tournament Championship and not even the Sweet 16 with the extra rest from losing in the quarter-finals the Big XII Tournament. Specifically, for the "I hope ISU loses in the Big XII Tournament early so they can rest for the NCAA Tournament crowd", I hope you understand why that is total bull malarkey. Not that I think ISU could have won the Big XII Tournament this year, but if they would have won it - I would consider this a good year. Just pointing out what a short-sighted, horse-**** point of view that is. I said it then, and I say it now. Try to win what is in front of you when you can!

I'm not going to hear that we have to stay positive. We can say it this was a disappointing season. Pre season top 5 team and to lose the way we did in the round of 32 in a non-competitive game.

I not going to go as far as to start blaming the coach, players, or fans. Sometimes you just don't meet expectations and this year we most certainly did not.
A round of 32 exit is now a disappointing season for ISU basketball for some fans

The program has come a long way in a short time

And if everyone remembers, the team actually did do well the first couple games without Milan. I am convinced the Love buzzer beater was the turning point of the season and deflated the team somewhat.

I'd still say a good season even if disappointing at the end compared to how the season started. The above and injuries were a killer.

Agreed. But how many times has ISU been ranked pre season top 5

In the tourney u gotta have a couple of guys who are next level and can just dominate. Look how Walter Clayton stepped up today for Florida. We had a nice team but no one elite like that.

I think you are on to something. We should fire TJ and start over.

Reminds me of the Niang injury season. Had a chance and injuries prevented the team from playing their best when it counted the most.
We did play our best when it counted that season. Niang was one of the most special players this school has ever seen and they still beat a very good UNC team the next game. UConn caught fire in the tournament and with a healthy Niang the team had a chance to win that one. I remember seeing the Niang injury happen in a game that was already a blowout and just felt so defeated because it felt like it was our season then.
