I truly think that CFH will be our Coach K, and will be in Ames for the next 20 to 30 years.
Fun fact time: We actually hired Johnny Orr over some up and coming nobody coach from Army named Krzyzewski. Crazy things happens.

I see Fred leaving for the NBA after he has a season where his team is one of the best in college basketball. I don't see him having a top 10 team nationally next season, so I wouldn't worry. If he does leave for the NBA though, I think Otzelberger is probably the obvious replacement.
Nope, they hired him over Bill Frieder.
That said, I think we are on borrowed time with Otz before he moves onto a head coaching job of his own. Him marrying Aus may help keep him around slightly longer but not much.I see Fred leaving for the NBA after he has a season where his team is one of the best in college basketball. Fred Hoiberg and CPR show up to your restaurant at the same time with a recruit in tow. You only have one table open, and its a table for two? What do you do?
edit - and Dreamy pushed for the job here before he got it all while working in the NBA. This isn't a stepping stone to anywhere. If he wanted to stay in the NBA he could have his way anywhere eventually.

Not saying we will be bad next year, but one rebuilding year could not spell the end of Fred's career here, and I don't think the mayor is leaving anytime soon.
Those are the people who need to wait until the next day to post after a loss. Overreactions are rampant on this forum, or any other sports forum. It wasn't but two weeks ago people were asking on here if Dreamy was really the right fit.

If his end goal was to be an NBA coach (which just sounds awful to me) he could have started somewhere smaller and used his NBA exec experience to work his way up the ladder. You don't start at a major college conference program as a springboard to the NBA.

kick someone else out and give them both the best table in the house, cross sport recruiting, no recruit can resist Fred AND PaulFred Hoiberg and CPR show up to your restaurant at the same time with a recruit in tow. You only have one table open, and its a table for two? What do you do?
