I could be misjudging his skill set/role, but I don't know if he's intended to be high-impact from 3.

I'm open to correction if I'm wrong.
He’s better than Jackson and Chatfield from 3 for sure. I feel like at 24%, you still have to respect the pick and pop or follow him out. Opposing 5’s absolutely did not have to respect our past centers and stayed in the lane.

Pleta also played on the U20 German National team. In those games he played the 5 similar to the way we use our post players. Lots of high pick and rolls.
That’s just modern basketball. Every NBA team runs a ton of high pick and roll with their 4s and 5s.

While we’re actively drinking Kool-Aid, I think this is the best our OL has ever been

I dont know if I'd use the word bad, but I'm thinking a 6 or 7 seed and a 2nd round exit. Lipsey/Jefferson/Milan are good enough to get any team into the tourney.

I'm not feeling the transfers at all compared to the quality of guys we've been accustomed to, and the freshman.....well they are freshman in the Big 12.

I don't think this guy mentioned in the thread title will play at all. Every year we hype up roster spots 1-13 and then only 8 or 9 are any good.
But if the OL improves I see great potential.

My expectations are that this team will not be quite as good as last year’s team, especially our guard play. Jones and Gilbert (when healthy) were both special players that will be difficult to replace.

Maybe if one of the freshmen turn out to be a diaper dandy, or Milan turns into Nowitzki we could be better.
If I've learned anything in my time as a Cyclone, it's our expectations are never to be trusted and usually pretty inaccurate lol!

I honestly think 2 of the freshman need to be legit. Who’s our three point shooters outside of Milan? Do not say Jefferson and lipsey, they are not consistent in that regard. Honestly, I think we are pretty bad next year. Curtis Jones isn’t here to save us.
I have this post saved just for fun.

Stinson and Blalock were Big 12 ready right from the start. When was the last time we had 2 dynamic and impactful guards come in as freshmen?

Here's hoping.

Just my opinion, but I don’t think that this years team has the ceiling that last years did. Not that that’s bad, last years ceiling was a national title IMO. Unfortunately, injuries robbed us of even getting close to that.

I think that the ceiling this year is probably elite eight. To get there, we need to avoid injuries and get a solid contribution from Nelson plus one of the FR guards. Not impossible at all.
