This is total ********. It's just what Ticketmaster wants you to think.

I literally got into an argument with someone in the box office about how this doesn't really deter scammers at all. The difference is instead of someone getting scammed and getting a fake or duplicate screenshot they get nothing at all (no transfer). The idiots at that gate think there are less scams as they see less "fake" tickets. The reality is the person who got scammed is finding out sooner instead of finding out at the gate.

This is all about control. Ticketmaster wants to know who is selling/transferring tickets but...more importantly...they want the data from those sales. They are skirting all kinds of laws by restricting transfer and making TM the only place you can sell the ticket now (and get paid). This gives them ammunition for repricing (dynamic) tickets after they went on sale as well as data for subsequent tours/sporting events.

With sports they are simply a partner, but with concerts TM is the truest monopoly this country has seen in decades. LN controls 60-70% of the tours, they own or control ticketing at most venues, and steer those tours to their venues. They then strongarm valuable venues to switch them; if they don't they (in so many words) tell them the tours will go elsewhere. They then control the tickets, what you can or can't do with the ticket, then have tried to monopolize resale. Skyrocketing ticket prices is largely the result of TM using resale data to reprice their tickets. As for the dynamic pricing mentioned earlier, they will change the price of the tickets once carted, a blatant bait and switch technique..

The reason people get scammed is because some are too ******* stupid to take the time to know the primary ticket vendor, how their tickets work, and proper methods of paymetn/transfer. Many will also deal with scammers using OBVIOUSLY fake FB accounts and text only numbers. Don't want to get scammed? Pick up the ******* phone and call someone. 99% of scammers use text only numbers or will never pick up the phone. And when they do? They are usually easy to spot.

If Ticketmaster cared about you getting scammed they'd pay for ads educated people how to avoid the above. But they don't. It's all about control. Trust me, I know.

Again, this is false. The only true benefit to the team/venue is that it cuts down on gate issues. Instead of getting a fake/duplicate ticket, idiots get scammed and get nothing at all. Scammers won't go away until people quit being idiots when it comes to transactions. Insisting on calling someone is probably the NUMBER ONE thing you can do to avoid a scam. Most use text only numbers and the others won't pick up as they are usually outed quickly.

"Safetix" and the other BS is about control. 99% control and 1% reducing gate issues. But now, instead of fake tickets, the box has to deal with account issues (people having trouble pulling up their account) and transfers failing. Basically trading one problem for another.
You ok?

Yep me too, I loaded them in the G wallet if you're in Google Pay you need network of some sort, but the G Wallet does not need a network connection, ready to roll.
