I think we're all indebted to GunnerClone for clearly stating what needed to be said. I'm particulary glad that these lovely children were here today to hear that post. Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish, it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.

Y'all need to work on your troll detectors.

F YOU!

Let me guess.... you're one of the ones that treated the Iowa band like s**t..... probably groping them too, right? You must be so proud.
Anyone who thinks school bands should be eliminated is a tool.

Music, in all forms, is probably the best thing we have in life..... period! And it's FAR from easy. I don't think many people understand what the ISU band members go through..... it is very demanding.... both mentally.... and physically.

I know someone that was in the ISU band and for them it was a 20 hour per week commitment during the football season when there wasn't a game.... but on game week you can add another 8-9 hours on game day on top of that 20 hours.

And then there are weeks they go and play at other events too..... like the night before the Iowa game they had to play at the Ames vs Iowa City High football game.... before, during, at halftime, and after the game. Getting home around 11 pm.... and then had to be down at Jack Trice at 5 a.m. the morning of the Iowa game to get ready for GameDay... and got home about 10 pm that night too thanks to the rain delays.

So F**K OFF to anyone putting down the band. My guess is there's no way you could have hacked it in college being in the band and going to school full time. So get a life!
Yeesh, didn’t take much to get you triggered. Not surprising you took this thread seriously.

Yes. The only people who like the band are band nerds or their parents. Ours is the worst. Varsity marching band? I’ve never heard another school call their band that. Is there a JV band? If so, imagine the nerdom of that group.

And the stupid chanting at basketball games. Not funny, clever, or effective. Just embarrassing.

Ouch.

Usually it is the other way around, though.

I got whacked by a flagpole on the side of my head my freshman year.

Wouldn’t really care about that either. Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, and other Olympic Sports are the future.

Let's just take this to it's finality. When the millenials take over all sports will be played via Xbox.

We’ve all been dragged down this rabbit hole of band nerd-dom long enough. Don’t end the game, #EndBandAlltogether

Football will go extinct before baseball.

#ChangeMyMind

I think you’re right. Football is too much of a coaches game. Baseball is all about the great chess match between pitcher and batter. With some incredible fielding thrown in.

I mean, we have amplifiers now so we don't need to have 500 nerds stomping all over our manicured grass field playing instruments that guarantee they will never get laid.

Every school should have a 4 piece death metal band that plays flying through the sky suspended on wire like Paul Stanley of KISS.
