With their race pace and tyre deg looking way better, it was good to see Ferrari right there in the pole battle. Charles Q2 lap was the fastest of the day, botched the 3rd sector on his Q3 lap but clearly they still have good 1 lap pace. Russell also impressive.

Max still going to be out in front a good bit, but I think this is at least encouraging signs that it may be closer than last year.

Man, even with how much they've talked down expectations I didn't think Alpine was 19/20 bad. And good to see Haas not as slow as some of those practice times looked.

Max by a mile tomorrow but everywhere else should have some good racing.

WE'RE NOT LAST BABYYYYY
Let's see how the Tire Deg problem from last year is. Fully expect to be P14 and P15, but ya never know.

Honestly Haas was pretty good in a lot of qualifying last year. Guess we will see race pace. I feel bad for PIerre. Then I remember his girlfriend and her looks and quit feeling bad for him

Alpine both cars dead last. I mean that's just a flippin' embarrassment.

Kind of interesting to see Yuki over Danny too. I wonder if them bringing in Danny lit a fire under Yuki.

I don’t find that shocking at all since Yuki is the better driver. I just don’t get this continued obsession with elevating DR and if we’re being real honest Liam Lawson showed a lot more long term promise.

This’ll be another boring constructor and drivers race this year. That’s the cool thing about F1; there’s still plenty to pay attention too. Mercedes and McLaren might be a good battle.

Also, have we considered Hamilton is maybe just a second tier driver now and there’s a chance Ferrari is getting a downgrade in driver even if it’s a net positive?
