Fan Duel evidently has our O/U at 7.5 wins... Thoughts?

The likely losses are Iowa, WVU, KU, KSU and Utah. I wouldn’t be surprised to see all of those happen. On the other hand I expect WVU to come down to earth a bit next year. On paper KSU should eat us alive, but it’s in Ames so that helps. It all comes down to whether we have an offensive line. If we can get back to the days of having a running game I’m betting the over. If not…no more than 7 wins.

I just turned 40 a few months back and it has happened 4 times in my life. I would like to think we'd do better but I'm not putting any money down.

LOL - Yes sometimes it is easy to guess ages on CF by people's expectations. ISU football only won 6 games total in a 4 season stretch from 1994-1997.

I’d say hammer the over. But at least wait until after spring ball, unless you think the line will change.

The line is set correctly for action. 6.5 is too low and there’s no way you could set that at 8.5 because expecting 9 wins in the season from Iowa State even without OU and Texas is lofty. Books would get smoked as 8 wins seems like the realistic high end. I think we can absolutely win 9 games for what it’s worth. But from a betting standpoint the line makes sense

I think next year could be the easiest football schedule we’ve had…ever?

If there is any year where we finally hit 10 wins, it will be this one.

Only winning 8 would be a huge disappointment, IMO. 7 wins or less is just unacceptable when you dig into the schedule.

See the 365 link below. I like the OVER. Sorry if already posted.

I saw a video where three guys were discussing the Big 12 and the O/U for wins put out by Vegas. Iowa State was listed at 7.5. When evaluating these O/Us, the guys mostly picked the under. Iowa State was one of a few exceptions where they picked the over and two of them said they were more confident about that pick than any of the others.

Kansas State and Utah were top of the heap at 9.5

Probably about right unless the OLine gells early then I can see our first 10 win season.

ND - W
@iowa - Lean L
Ark St - W
@Houston - W
Baylor - W
@WV - Toss up
UCF - Lean W
Tech - W
@KU - Lean L
Cinci - W
@utah - L
KSU - Lean W

That would be 8-4 counting the toss up at West Virginia as a loss. I'd bet the over.

Pound the over. CMC sold me on this season at the We Will Collective event. He talked about:
  • 20 returning starters.
  • The staff "sprints" to work each morning.
  • Wants to win the Big 12 conference outright.
  • And even teased us about hosting a Playoff game in Jack Trice Stadium in December!
