We lost to a crappy mizzou team to go to the Big12 title game.
Then we lost to a crappy KU team to go the Big12 Title game. I remember watching highlights that day and one of the talking heads said "and that is why they are iowa state...." lol

We are going to have to find a way to play a heck of a lot better within the next few days. or at least mistake free football. Or K-state will join those two other schools as keeping ISU out of the Title game.

looking at attendance all over the country, I am not going to beat up our fans for not selling out our stadium on Thanksgiving weekend on a 20 degree day with a chance of snow.

Not sure if I recall correctly, but wasn't it Rece Davis who said that?

Also, I think that was the Missouri '04 game, not '05 KU. (Also going purely from memory)

Think it's just fretting that too many people will flake due to weather, Thanksgiving, students gone, etc.

I'm not banking on a sellout but it'll be a good crowd. We're a much different program now than in 04.

The bed-wetting going on in this thread is a little embarrassing. It's a holiday week, kickoff was announced less than 24 hours ago, and there's still a full six days before the game is actually played.

And we’ve already sold 60,000 tickets.

That’s 7,000 more than KSU’s stadium holds

Will be interesting if the 1-2 inches of snow materializes that morning…that will be one slick mother of a field.

Yeah with that many sold already it will obviously be sold out. That doesn’t mean there won’t be some empty seats.

I always find the fan shaming annoying. I dropped a bunch of money to watch them play in KC and they didn’t show up. Don’t blame some fans for staying home.

We have Iowa state people begging fans to buy tickets.

You can’t cry about not playing them for one year and not sell it out if it’s a big deal.
It illustrates our weakness as fans. How in hell is this game not a sellout.
It’s such a big deal that CW is begging fans to show up to the game
17° at kickoff. Lots of fans are soft. This game is a sellout during any other week/weather this year. It was in the high 40s/50s just two weeks ago.

TV and Big XII have dictated they want it at the end of the year because of rivalry (why do you think Big 10 puts Iowa/Nebraska as the last game too?)

The game wasn't a sellout last year in Manhattan either because it was cold af & snowing too, but it ended up doing AMAZING tv numbers from what I remember.

People care about the game and the rivalry/history. Yes, even if every seat in the stadium isn't full in coldest game of the season.

The Big XII fumbled the bag by not keeping ISU/KSU a protected every year rivalry in conference. You won't convince me otherwise...I mean they chose this game out of any Big XII option for Ireland game next year. You don't do that if people just don't care about the matchup.

It’d be nice if we didn’t allow our opponent to score on their opening drive. Ironically the last time we forced a punt on the first series was Kansas. Probably the only time they punted that day.
