Facebook memories just informed me that today is the day they picked up 3 flags while we were playing Kansas State in 2017. The fix game. Thanks facebook for reminding me.

I was there for both. At the '91 game, they just opened the gates and send the ticket takers home. They figured if you were crazy enough to show up, you should get in. Maybe 5,000 actual attendance. Students were in the upper deck corners making snow angels.
Memory is fuzzy, but I would've guessed well less than half that attendance figure. And that's with a good amount of game-related staff and participants, including myself in the marching band!

There was so much snow, instead of tailgating in the parking lots I actually saw people cross-country skiing.

I'm anxious. IDK if scared is the right word cause as of today like yesterday, I don't have a great feeling. But I don't think its out of the realm of possibility. So I'm more... apprehensive / anxious. KInda like the feeling you get when you're asking out your crush for the first time

You're likely correct. I looked back, and the 5,000 estimate was the DM Register's semi-educated guess. A buddy of mine also braved the skating rink-like roads to go to the game. He found a seat near the 50 yard line in the lower level and sat down. A few minutes later, guy came up to him and said that my buddy was in his seat. Buddy thought he was joking, but he wasn't.

Found this to be an interesting stat-

KSU is 4-0 in games where they have a defensive or ST TD, and 4-3 in games they arent gifted points

I REALLY like our chances here if ISU can take care of the ball and play mistake free

Johnson is averaging 208 yards passing against secondary's not as talented as ours. Stack the box and spy him, and make him throw the ball. Similar gameplan to UCF/WVU games.

If Johnson has to win the game with his arm, I like the good guys by 10+

So what do we think about the matchup itself?

The main thing that worries me is the QB's scrambling ability, which is borderline elite in my opinion. Feels like we've struggled containing the unscripted QB runs this year.

17° at kickoff. Lots of fans are soft. This game is a sellout during any other week/weather this year. It was in the high 40s/50s just two weeks ago.

TV and Big XII have dictated they want it at the end of the year because of rivalry (why do you think Big 10 puts Iowa/Nebraska as the last game too?)

The game wasn't a sellout last year in Manhattan either because it was cold af & snowing too, but it ended up doing AMAZING tv numbers from what I remember.

People care about the game and the rivalry/history. Yes, even if every seat in the stadium isn't full in coldest game of the season.

The Big XII fumbled the bag by not keeping ISU/KSU a protected every year rivalry in conference. You won't convince me otherwise...I mean they chose this game out of any Big XII option for Ireland game next year. You don't do that if people just don't care about the matchup.

I don't think the team is getting enough credit for the Utah game. Yes, there were three or four horrendous mistakes, but they dominated the rest of the game. Clearly shouldn't have been that close, but not many teams overcome that chain of mistakes on the road. I feel good about where they are, and if nothing else, they are as comfortable in a close game as any Cyclone team that I can remember.

The place was absolutely rocking after those ISU screwups. In so many ways it reminded me of an Iowa game. Even reminded me of Iowa how their somewhat mobile backup QB is obviously way better than their slow statue starting QB.

Cincy runs the same defense as us and Johnson ran for 77 yds in 10 carries. The big danger is, unlike a lot of the running QB's we faced, he is also pretty good at throwing the ball.
