Adele has a song that was never put on an album called Never Gonna Leave You that you listen to and wonder how a song that good didn’t make the cut.
Great stuff.Fans of The Police know that some of their best work is their instrumental stuff (for which I think they won some Grammys?) The instrumental, Regatta de Blanc off of their second album of the same name is brilliant, absolutely one of their best. The few "lyrics" are gibberish so I assume that excluded it from airplay in the late 70s / early 80s when it was released.

As a follow up, Schon's guitar work is incredibly under rated:My favorite Journey song is "Stone in Love."
I think the tension between Copeland and Sting, musically, is what made the band. Copeland took Sting's songs and sped them up or applied way more drums and cymbal work to them than someone else would. It was very much Copeland pulling the songs forward, forcibly pulling them out of Sting. After 40 years we see that that style has made Copeland a legend in the drumming world. Drummers across all genres count him as an influence. Also, it's easy to forget how great Summers was until you go back and listen to the records. For such an impactful band...they were relatively short-lived...they produced some of the best music ever! Too bad they didn't like each other...or maybe we (those who love the Police) benefitted from that dislike because whatever the formula was...it worked!
This is a much better rendition of "If". When a man lights a smoke at the beginning of a music video we know it's a high class event.
I can remember in college, finding a copy of disc one of the Led Zeppelin boxed set, at a used CD store, with Hey Hey What can I do, and Travelling Riverside Blues on it, and feeling like I won the lottery, because as a poor student, I could never afford to buy the full boxed set.Got it, if we were talking B sides it's hard to beat Hey Hey What Can I Do by Led Zeppelin, which was the B side of Immigrant Song. It wasn't released on an album which I presume made it's airplay limited. Great tune.
My favorite Journey song is "Stone in Love."
