Oh really? 10th best huh? They actually averaged 31ppg last year with that same Qb. Maybe it's because ISU has a championship defense and held them in check, plus when you are creating that many turnovers you don't need your offense to do anything except play ball control.

They'll putup over 40 on alot of those Big 10 west teams.

Things will settle down for Iowa here in a few weeks and they'll get beat a few times.

They're sound, no doubt, but they'll get put on skates at some point.

I chose 8-4, but that's mainly averaging my outlook. Based on season so far, this looks like a 7/5/6-6 team. That’s typical for annual Septemberitis … things will get rolling a little better and we'll reach 9-3 range, 10-2 at a stretch. Will lose to OU (either badly or one of those almost-wins), beat Baylor despite p***ing around most of the game, lose at least one of at West Virginia, at KSU or OSU. Squeak past TCU in finale to clinch at least 3rd in XII.

I'd peg OSU as a loss. Another mental ceiling team.

By who? Have you seen their schedule? The only possible losses left are Penn St and Wisconsin. They'll probably lose one of those and 1 more against Northwestern or Purdue but 2 losses will still get them a shot at the playoffs against Ohio St.

They'll steamroll a majority of those teams left on their schedule.

JFC, we just played the best defense on the schedule and the 2nd toughest game the entire year(even though a bunch of idiots over the summer had this game as the 5th or 6th toughest the entire year).

This defense will keep them in every game and if we even break even with this offense instead of -4 it will be good enough to beat a majority of Big 12 teams.

This is still the 2nd best team in the Big 12, go watch other games. Texas is a dumpster fire, West Virginia can't compete with the 12th best Big 10 team, K-State may be without their QB again when we play them.
This right here, Big 12 isn’t gonna offer too many challenges. This team only has 3 games they’ll have to really work for & we probably can win 2/3 of em since no one will match Iowa’s defense & slow down the run. Avoid stepping on our own nutsack, like a game to Kstate, & we’ll get 10

I’d start with their Friday road game at Maryland in 3 weeks. Maryland isn’t great, but they don’t look to be terrible after 2 weeks. Not saying it happens, but they are capable of beating this Iowa. I also expect Iowa to be in dogfights with Northwestern and Purdue like they are every year. Also Wisconsin game is in Madison.

Ok I’ll say it. How is this any different from any other year? Slow start. A loss to Iowa we shouldn’t have. Offense feels like it went into regression. This is the typical ISU start to a season. I’d say we are right on track. Looks to be another good year!
Sure, but after returning 20/22 starters, with also having a lot of 5th and 6th year seniors, wouldn’t you be a little disappointed with 7-6 or 8-5? Most years no, but this year?

Yes I would be disappointed. Even though the offense is all back it doesn’t look like they’ve improved.

We should have a much better handle on where this team is after Baylor.

More likely than not, we'll lose 1 to either OSU or OU. Perhaps we'll lose 1 more that we shouldn't lose somewhere.

The good news is that most of the rest of the conference has NOT looked good the last few weeks.

Although last game was frustrating, our coaching staff has proven over and over again that the team will improve every week. I think we end up at 9-3 or 10-2.

some of you on here haven't seen other big 12 teams have you? Oklahoma state is goign to be very beatable...WV isn't good...Baylor is not improved they look worse honestly.. and OU is still lets see how things go.

Texas is ok but they are going to be up and down all year IMO.

I honestly think this team is going to play better on the road...They kinda have in the past honestly under CMC.

Iowa is our 1 loss right now and they are going to be Top 7-8ish in country next week and we completely gave them that game..

If we can simply avoid TO and Purdy gets on track there is no reason this team cannot compete for Big 12 title..

No way this team goes 6-6 like some are saying.

We should start the season 4-1 honestly and if we don't you could see a change at QB then...Until then I"m going to assume Purdy will get his **** together..

No they won't...Iowa had every opportunity and then some to score numerous offensive touchdowns yesterday and flat out got stood up outside 1 possession...

It isn't like Iowa ran the ball 40 times to just eat clock. They passed the ball a fair amount. The game was 14-10 in the 3rd qtr...it is not like it was 24-3 and Iowa just decided to pack it in offensively..

Iowa had fewer offensive yards than freaking plays in the 2nd half.

I'll go 9-3. Lose at OU and one more we "shouldn't."

If we don't get things cleaned up the game @ KSU is probably the one I feel worst about.
I AGREE ...Kansas State in Manhattan has been a LIVING NIGHTMARE SINCE BILLY BOB SNYDER TOOK OVER....I just don't see this team esp the offense beating KSU's Defense

The only thing that makes this seem possible is that Iowa State having that ridiculously good of a season and OF COURSE the football gods (who eternally loathe us) will have our one loss in a year that good is against ******* Iowa….
