for those of you calling it poor journalism, I don't really understand why. There are hundreds of stories reported daily in the US that are based on anonymous sources...hell, even the Watergate scandal was an anonymous source. If Hines is sitting in a bar and talking with some of you about what he heard, you'd probably ask him why he's not following up on it...you'd want to know more. Not sure I fault him for writing the story but have a bigger issue with the chicken **** sources who can't be named. Unless of course Hines is making all of it up...which seems a bit far fetched to me.

Unfortunately, there is probably some truth in what was written...but I really question why it's even a big deal at this point. Too much time spent on the past vs what we have to look forward to.

Then he should blog it, or put it on facebook, or 4chan or some other NON-journalistic outlet. He passed on rumor and gossip without fact-checking and that does not rise to the level of "journalism".

This was an article that was meant to promote the writer. This was intended to be Hines' breakout piece, his leap from regional Iowa beat writer to national college basketball commentator. It just so happened to come at the expense of our favorite team, and without the success of that team and its obsessive and often crazy fans, Travis Hines has zero audience.

Translation: **** you, Travis Hines.

Travis must be getting ready to move to Chicago.

I am so sick and tired of all these smart *** comments that people always make when they clearly know what someone is talking about. So many people think they're so damn funny. I got a lotta problems with you people! Now, you're gonna hear about it!

You mean "going to" I think.

Valid Point, I still don't think you leave a final 4 caliber team that you built and love, for a NBA team with a very risky injury prone superstar, unless something else is a problem... but then again I'm not Fred. IMO he could have any NBA job after this year, but maybe I'm still just a little bitter he left

Or maybe he wanted to leave the next coach with a good roster and not the scorched earth it would have been had he left this spring. It's the honorable thing to do if you care about ISU and Johnny Orr did the same thing.

If you are really trying to blame Hoibers departure on Pollard, you're an idiot. No doubt they weren't best friends, but very few are besties with their boss.
