7 years, 1 winning season, 5 wins the last 2 years, 2 conference wins in 2 years....that says knee jerk reaction to you?
Some people just will never get it. This trend could continue 10 more years and you would still hear more of the same. It's mind boggling.

I've accepted this as truth. Whether it plays out that way remains to be seen, but since he got the amazing win against a hapless Texas team, he'll be back. Really wish our AD would take the football program more seriously.

Its' really hard to take a football program at a Basketball School Seriously........Think ISU and KU

ISU and KU's football programs are not taken seriously not because ISU and KU are BB schools. ISU and KU's football programs are not taken seriously because ISU's and KU's FB programs suck.

I hate losing, but I am not sure now is the time for a change. I like our young talent. Change coaches and you risk losing some of that talent. Realistically, it is likely we will take a couple steps back with any coaching change before we see any real improvement. It is not like we would land Nick Saben and instantly be a better program. Personally, I would like to see what Cotton-Moya, Lazard, Warren, and Lanning can do before we turn the program upside down.

Look at Kansas, coaching changes haven't made Kansas instantly better.

So since Kansas got worse we will too? I can point to many instances where a coaching change made a team better instantly. You never know. It's a risk worth taking though because we really don't have much further to fall from a 2-3 win team a year. Not really a big risk at all.

Speaking of coaching changes, I know a lot of people were tooting the PJ Fleck horn as a "replacement". Anyone watch the game last night? He runs his program like a high school program with his little catch phrases, jingles, and mantras. The dude is a joke. They made some comment about how other schools will come after him at the end of this season and he said he couldn't leave WMU because they're the only school who would let him fully implement his RTB philosophy/slogan/dance.

Not pleased with the number of wins. Yet, I am not sure that the firing of CPR is the thing to do at this time. See what happens these last few games and make a decision. Lots and lots of openings this year. Not sure who are likely candidates are thought to be.

Name the schools similar to Iowa State that it has happened. I see schools like Michigan and Florida, but not schools similar to Iowa State.

You realize our program is a joke, and our biggest contribution to college football is "So proud" right?

Pretty sure our biggest contribution was knocking off the 2nd ranked team two weeks out from the BCS being locked in.

Agreed. I'm just saying that everyone needs to chill on the whole fire Rhoads talk. Everyone talks about how the fan base is so strong and the fans deserve a winner. Well I would argue that excitement in football increased to what it is now solely because of Rhoads. The fans have kept coming obviously, and the program has fallen off in the w/l column for many reasons. A knee-jerk reaction to get rid of Rhoads might possibly kill fan base excitement if we were to hire a guy that doesn't get us to the 6-6 consistent record with the occasional 8-4 season. Maybe the next head coach isn't as passionate or care as much about Iowa State football like Rhoads does. The *****ing and moaning would only continue.

Okay, Paul, just win more games. You can have your job.

Nice. You got the "we might lose players" mixed in with the requisite references to Saban/Alabama and "We don't want to be Kansas."

Fearing change is refusing to even try and do better. You really could have just posted "We are Iowa State" and been done with it.

I don't fear change. But not sure if the timing is right to make the change. Lots of things to consider in making a decision. CPR could certainly make things easier by just winning.

There are pros and cons on both sides of the aisle. The team looked very good against a very average Texas team. We were beaten handily by Oklahoma. Which is nothing new. And something Oklahoma has done to every team except for their unexplainable loss to Texas. IMO, Oklahoma could win out and win the Big 12.

See how things go the last few games. Assess the situation and what the options are. Honestly, I am not enthused about being way down the list for coaches.

Give credit where it's due. You say 7 years and 1 winning season, but don't mention 3 bowl appearances in those 7 years. Almost half the his tenure going to bowls with a program that hardly ever went to bowl games over it's history.

If the next 10 years were like the last two seasons, I'm pretty sure I would not be in favor of keeping Rhoads. Don't put words in my mouth.
