Coach Campbell posted this on Twitter this morning. I'm guessing it might be a commitment.

That height and with him being already 215 I see no issues with this young man being a good 270 pound defensive end!

It was oline according to twitter.

When I saw his picture, I immediately thought receiver. That's a lot of weight to add.

He's 16, he has lots of time to bulk up. At 6'6" he has a good frame to add some weight.

Add some weight? No problem, have him hang with us old farts, we can add 10 lbs a month by just looking at food.

...I thought my statement was one of encouragement, but obviously came across as naive concern. Sheesh. Welcome aboard, Alex!

Exactly. I was 6'6" and 230 when I was 17. I ended up playing at 300 in college. Age and a weight program can put on a lot of "good weight".
This is what I would expect in the normal course of events for youngsters (16 to me is a youngster . . . unfortunately), lots of height, and body mass yet to catch up. That's why I'm sorta dumbfounded by the size of the Dowling kid we offered a couple of weeks ago, 6-4, 290 lbs. Really? And the sophomore carries it very well.

Isn't it the case these days that medical science can pretty much predict the size potential of a kid through certain measurables? Or, am I off base thinking so?
