Nowhere and Everywhere
This is what I would expect in the normal course of events for youngsters (16 to me is a youngster . . . unfortunately), lots of height, and body mass yet to catch up. That's why I'm sorta dumbfounded by the size of the Dowling kid we offered a couple of weeks ago, 6-4, 290 lbs. Really? And the sophomore carries it very well.

Isn't it the case these days that medical science can pretty much predict the size potential of a kid through certain measurables? Or, am I off base thinking so?

Not sure about the size prediction. To answer your question about body types my answer is it takes all types. I knew guys that were slim and filled out with 50 lb+ weight gains and I knew guys that came in big and just added strength and a few lbs. I played at 300 but didn't look that heavy with low body fat while the guy next to me and my back up weighed 290 and looked sloppy, they both came in big. The kid that was my back up my senior year honestly ended up better than me by his senior year, yet he looked like a slob. However I had a more stereotypical NFL body than he did which meant I got more looks from NFL teams than he did unfortunately. My point being talent is talent. You do have to recruit off body type to an extent but if someone has what you deem as a "serviceable body" along with talent you take them. ISU is not in any position to turn down talent because it doesn't match a perfect body type.

His 247 page is out there now but all it says is commit to ISU today, no other offers or history.

That was a pretty impressive video to me. That was some big time high school football and he more than held his own. Nice footwork and hustle. Probably a very smart kid. A sophomore playing tackle for a big time HS football team and doing quite well. He has more than enough time to grow into a Big XII body.

From the article:
And it all meant ISU landed a high school offensive lineman that Phillips describes as super athletic. Williams, at 6-foot-6, can do a 360 degree slam dunk.

He has an 84 inch wingspan and weighed as much as 240 pounds last season, Phillips said, before dropping 20 pounds. He isn’t concerned about Williams’ long-term weight.

“That kid can easily be a 300 pounder and he knows that,â€￾ [Phillips] said.

In my personal opinion, sophomore year is too early to make a college decision.

Although one glance at the landscape of college football would tell me he's far from the only one.

At least he picked us (!)

Seems like you need to offer when they're in junior high.

I used to be of the same opinion but that was only because we never got commitments from sophomores.

Welcome to the family Alex! The Nation Rises!

It's like my dream scenario for ISU football playing out. The question is quickly becoming "How long can we keep Campbell if we start winning?".

CC is a baller.

So can our nutritionist start helping him with food intake and excercise plans?
