Rhoads should be fired at the end of this season for 1 winning season in 7 years, 4 different OC's, and one of the worst defenses in the country.

Pollard could structure the pay package for the new coach as follows:
Wins 1-3 pay $250,000 per win (up to $750,000)
Wins 4-6 pay $400,000 per win (up to $1.2M)
Wins 7-10 pay $650,000 per win (up to $2.6M)
Wins 11-13 pay $1M per win (up to $3M)

If the new coach wins:
1 game - he's paid $250,000
2 games - $500,000
3 games - $750,000
4 games - $1.15M
5 games - $1.55M
6 games - $1.95M (this might need to be closer to $2.5M but you get the point)
7 games - $2.6M
8 games - $3.25M
9 games - $3.9M
10 games - $4.55M
11 games - $5.55M
12 games - $6.55M
13 games - $7.55M

Heck we're paying Rhoads about $900,000 per win right now. Ridiculous.

I'm not sure what fans think but JP's interview seemed to indicate HE thinks we're in store for some wins now that the schedule has eased.

I think it's hilarious that people think we're actually going to win more than one more game. We're a train wreck. I love Lanning but get ready for the growing pains. Guess I'll just have to wait for the OK game for people to get off this little kool-aid break everyone is on.

Amazing what Baylor losing Russell, some favorable bad weather, and another failed coaching hire will do for replenishing the kool-aid. A second half victory too. Another actual win and JP may be able to start the NEZ.

When exactly did Russell go out? I think it was pretty late in the game. It certainly wasn't in the 3rd quarter when we were holding them to no points.

I rewatched the last 3 quarters of the Baylor game.

Had a weird mixture of feelings. At first I was really happy watching it, a lot of good things were going on. And I don't agree that we somehow got "lucky" that Baylor just ran the ball for much of the game. If the numbers are right in the box, Briles will be happy to run it all game long.

Where I started to get upset was towards the end of the game I realized, we never actually tried to win that game. We were content to run clock, not press the defense upfield, and it appears, content to lose by less than 3 touchdowns. That to me is no moral victory, that is an immoral loss. Hello! You try to win the game! haha, but seriously. Disheartening to see.

I'll bet you $100 we win more than one more game.

Oh please. We tried the onside kick when we got within 20-35. The reason why we were doing well is that we were taking up time and running the ball. They were trying to win and it is silly to suggest otherwise.

I respect your gumption and I think I would win but I have a strict no betting actual $$$'s via online message boards. I wouldn't have taken a straight up ISU vs. Baylor bet last week, I wouldn't take straight up "will the sun set in the west tonight" bet with you taking the east. If you want to do an avatar or sig bet I'm all for that. The betting real money thing is way too serious for this environment imo.

The fact that we're having a semi-conversation about JP bringing back a coach that has 7 wins over his last 31 games makes me sad.

Silly it is not. Didn't we end the game with all 3 timeouts? I think so.

i agree we weren't trying to win. Offense was burning clock like they were ahead. Pretty clear we were content with making the game look close.

I love how people have reset their expectations after we failed to start the year right. That should count for something.

He shouldnt be back unless we make a bowl. He will likely fail to do that.
I think the question is not what the bar should be but what it is it is. Many folks were just wrong before the season and now that it is clear from what Jamie has alluded recently people have adjusted.

We can go 3-9 and I am confident he will be back. Jamie supports his hires no matter how much they suck. He was going to keep Greg McDermott a 5th year after going like 14-18 every year and 4-12 in the Big 12. That is just pathetic.

Not sure who you are referring to, but I was saying 5-7 would get him another year in August. Haven't changed my mind on that.

I don't know what JP will do. Sagarin has us with the third toughest strength of schedule. W/L may not be the only criteria, but we ought to be able to get 1 or 2 more wins. He might consider the direction of the program - are we getting better or not? Regardless of the number of wins, the best prediction for the future is the recruit class. A class (oral commits) ranked 7 or higher would be better than any CPR has had.

I think I will really be bored if something does not change. Oops....I am sorry, that last sentence was what I said January of 2013.
