I like a wide variety of burger joints. I don't get this only liking one thing. 5 guys has burgers and fries that have never seen the inside of a freezer. I love B-Bops and Freddy's has a different burger and fry that a pretty good. I like Culvers when I want something other than a burger and the kids want a burger joint.

That being said, the secret is to not eat at any of them very often so you don't have to worry about a little grease or a few extra calories ruining you.

No. Its a competition, always. The place you like to eat is never as good as the place I like to eat. Suck it.

Every time we diverge into the burger wars I am surprised there isn't more love for The Counter. I guess I have only been to them in California but I think they are in quite a few places. They are pricey, but I love all the choices they provide for toppings.

It's good. A bit of a higher end option. I'd consider Umami Burger to be a more of a competitor

oh snap, gonna start another food wars thread?
We have had the beginnings of some minor burger-related skirmishes. However, the fighting has seemed to stay mostly localized within the peaceful burger and fries demographics and in remote Eastern Syria.

I'll bite. El Azteca is probably the best overall, although my best meal is the Fajita Quesidlla at La Fuenta. Although out in my area, Mazatlan is hard to beat.
Can't get involved in Des Moines Mexican food wars but I'm curious about the opinions of El Patio as my sister recently bought a house near there. I've heard it's not great but fun to go to none the less.

We discuss Fiesta Cancun (bad name, good food) vs. El Toro (good name, so-so food)

I hold my ground pretty good when it comes to Mexican food. We seem to have come to a truce and neither side really wants to cross the 38th parallel. She wins everything else.

Okay, give. Where does she like and where do you? I couldn't get Mrs. Velo to go anywhere but a place I shall not name on Elm Creek until it closed.

Don Pablo's? Yep. That's pretty bland. I mentioned our places in a different post but there is a place in downtown Anoka called Casa Rio that's pretty good. The menu is a little shorter. I think each of it's chairs are painted in a different design.

I was so sick of DP's even though we don't eat out much. Will try CR.
