Well KU only earned 4-5 units of that total $31 million. Not sure that the NCAA wants to open up that can of worms. The basketball tourney is THE revenue source for the whole shebang.

At a MINIMUM they played an ineligible player in Jackson. Here come the ******** vacated wins. At least they can shut up about any streak.

Bingo. I couldn't care less if any coaches or administrators go down in this deal. I just want to see some wins vacated so we can quit hearing about the stupid steak. It should have an asterisk already anyway.

There would still be Kansas apologists in the national media that would talk about it and how they did it on the court despite whatever the NCAA said after the fact. We all know who those guys would be...

Off court benefits don't affect play unless they're steroids, though. So their on-court stuff doesn't changr, as much as I hate them.

The way around vacated wins is to say you caused the other team to lose. Those other teams don't get wins. If you really wanted to make it right you'd give every other team those wins, but again, benefits don't affect on court play.

Jackson isn't involved in this at all. Catch up. DeSousa and Preston are the two Kansas players allegedly involved.

At least an FBI investigation could result in actual penalties. If it was an NCAA gig, the "penalties" would be vacation of victories and/or championships. Like telling a child that since he stole candy from a store, he was forbidden from enjoying it (after it had already been eaten). Ooohhhhh, that hurt.

So if we paid the Houston Rockets to come to Ames and win a championship, that's fine because they'd have done it on the court?

What you mean is, they have evidence against DeSousa and Preston. To this point, their investigation doesn't go back as far as Jackson's recruitment yet.

As soon as people start flipping, I'd guess we'll start to hear the full scope of these payments. And I don't believe that anyone is completely innocent here. I just will find it interesting the lengths that each school goes and which schools these shoe companies are propping up.

If this happened with multiple players, could this fall under that vaguely defined category of lack of institutional control?

The idea that these schools have no idea Nike, Adidas, or UA are steering kids to them makes me giggle.

Except they are no longer considered amateurs in the eyes of the NCAA thus ineligible so should not even be ON the court.
