Rock Chalk Cheater!!
Bring in the painters- time to change it from "Fear the Phog" to "FEAR the FBI".
The athletic department is simply following the FBI lead. The FBI is charging people with committing fraud against the university, which means that by definition, KU was the "victim" of fraud. The whole notion of fraud against the schools is stupid and this should not be resulting in federal criminal cases but that is what the FBI has chosen to do. Do use of the word victim is accurate in this context.Bill is just following the university's talking points. It's the language used by their officials before Self himself spoke on the matter. Bill's just a victim.
“Earlier today, we learned that the University of Kansas is named as a victim in a federal indictment,” the statement from Joe Monaco, KU’s director of strategic communications, read. “The indictment does not suggest any wrongdoing by the university, its coaches or its staff. We will cooperate fully with investigators in this matter. Because this is an active investigation, it is not appropriate for us to comment further at this time.” LJW
You don't think they knew? I know they're not going to be able to prove they know but cmon use common sense
It isn't 'fear the phog.'Rock Chalk Cheater!!

Correct, it's now FEAR the FBI!
This would suggest that Ku, its coaches and program generally didn't promote and cultivate an atmosphere that allowed this to happen during Self's reign, which is patently false. Ku is tied contractually to the funder, Adidas. Ku has actively developed relationships with AAU coaches and others that provide the infrastructure for this to happen. Ku is guilty by association of a complete ethics failure if not a violation of law. This has been going on for a long, long time. We'll see if it ends abruptly. The athletic department is simply following the FBI lead. "The kids and I never took money from anyone. This is bigger than basketball. These kids and I have sacrificed so much because we know this could change our countries and nation. Anyone that knows me will know that coach Larry Brown is the only person that I take advice from because who he means to me and the kids. "Silvio's mom"
Can't think of a better person for them to be taking advice from.

Exactly right. Every school in the nation recruits through AAU programs. Every school hires assistant coaches due largely to their relationships with certain AAU coaches in certain key regions. Every school has a relationship and a contract with a shoe/apparel company. Anyone who thinks that this identical issue is not happening at Nike schools all over America is a fool. The sentence in bold is exactly every school in the NCAA.

Sorry for the late response; I wanted to wait until I was at home and could use a keyboard instead of my phone. This website is rather uncooperative when trying to post via mobile. What % of you believes Self knew nothing about this? I don't need to hear a deflected and rehashed version of the post I'm quoting. I want to know your actual opinion on this.
"Self is a good coach, and part of being a great coach is being a great recruiter." I know you've said a version of that several times on this site. Can you honestly tell me that this great recruiter has no knowledge of this? Keep in mind that this is the guy that your AD basically answers to.
