I understand the point you are trying to make, but him not calling a timeout only means we most likely go to OT...far from chalking it up as a loss at that point.

Yeah, but then it doesn't make sense to say we would have beat Texas by not screwing up that last defensive possession. That would have gone to OT just like the Iowa game.

From another perspective, maybe he doesn't miss it if the timeout wasn't called in the middle of his approach.

Timeout was clled before the snap was made. So Netten knew there was no pressure on hitting it or not. Netten just took it as a warm-up kick.
