Sounds like Dekkers was one of them. Placing bets while in the Stark Performance Center isn’t a smart thing to do.
I am curious why it matters where the bet was placed

It doesn’t matter overall it’s more about doing it in the place where the athletes get lectured about exactly what he was doing.I get that. Why does it matter if a bet was placed in the Stark as compared to his apartment, his parents house, driving down the street, etc?

Yeah, kinda like telling the new girl "nice ass" right after you get done with the sexual harassment training seminar. It doesn’t matter overall it’s more about doing it in the place where the athletes get lectured about exactly what he was doing.
I really hope this rumor isn’t true, as it’ll put a damper on the season
I know this is apples & oranges, but in the NFL players aren't allowed to bet on sports at all while on team property.I get that. Why does it matter if a bet was placed in the Stark as compared to his apartment, his parents house, driving down the street, etc?

They can't bet on NFL games anywhere, but they're allowed to bet on anything else when they aren't on company grounds. Players in Detroit still broke that rule instead of walking across the street.
Legally I agree, but the optics of the situation are that much worse when the rule is so blatantly disobeyed. My point is it is against NCAA rules to bet so where it happened shouldn't even matter. The infraction was committed the place where it committed is immaterial.
Sounds like from my source that the new JUCO kid with immediate eligibility is coming to replace a possible Dekkers suspension or worse case scenario dismissal. Pretty reliable source from past stuff she’s told me.Looks like we’ll have an excuse if we lose to Iowa.

That is what his twitter profile states eligibility 3 for 2.I thought someone said the JUCO QB was a 3 to play 2 transfer.
You may be correct, I wasn’t sure on that but she said just in conversation a little bit ago about needing immediate help unless JJ is going to be our guy?I thought someone said the JUCO QB was a 3 to play 2 transfer.
Without any insider knowledge I would assume the QB depth chart if all of these rumors are correct would be:You may be correct, I wasn’t sure on that but she said just in conversation a little bit ago about needing immediate help unless JJ is going to be our guy?
Entering fall with three QB’s on the roster is a risky move. Last year we had a walkon we trusted (Cook), and still added the kid from Iowa Western.Without any insider knowledge I would assume the QB depth chart if all of these rumors are correct would be:
1. Rocco
2 JJ/Hughes
Entering a fall with only 2 QBs on the roster is a risky move.
That's kind of my point. I'm not expecting Hughes to start, and he may not even play much. But he's a MUCH needed depth piece if we don't want to see Jaylin Noel taking snaps.Entering fall with three QB’s on the roster is a risky move. Last year we had a walkon we trusted (Cook), and still added the kid from Iowa Western.
This year we have no walkon QB’s period.
Which is why we’re taking Hughes.
But it’s not like the staff has been out here offering JUCO QBs all cycle. The timing of the offer is pretty telling IMO.Entering fall with three QB’s on the roster is a risky move. Last year we had a walkon we trusted (Cook), and still added the kid from Iowa Western.
This year we have no walkon QB’s period.
Which is why we’re taking Hughes.
