"Poison is a women's weapon". I know that quote was stated in season 1 don't remember from who thou. The other question is whom orchestrated this operation to kill the king. This was not a one person job.
I think it was maybe Pycelle?

I think you may be right. I believe he was talking to Ned Stark about if poison killed Jon Arryn (memory is a little fuzzy).

Yep. You can actually see it in the episode. It's on camera.
Pycelle has knowledge and possession of poisons. He is Cersei's creature though. Tyrion sniffed him out before throwing him into the dungeon. It is certainly possible, but getting Pycelle to conspire against Cersei would be difficult, unless he was really convinced Joffrey was a monster.
After watching again I still say it's the pie....
Ok, it's not the pie. I guess I'm going with the Sansa theory with help from Dontos. She had direct access to the cup right before he had the last drink. The only problem I had with this theory is that was an awfully fortuitous circumastance that led to the cup being in her hands. But I suppose if the plan was to poison him when the opportunity arrises she may have been ready to take advantage of the moment. Both of them definitely had as much motivation as anyone to kill him. I suppose it could have been one of the Tyrell's, but they have as much to lose as to gain IMO.
Anyone down for discussing this weeks episode? I still don't know who poisoned jeoffrey (sp?) please don't let me know. We also know now that it was not the pie......andDaenerys is setting all the slaves free!
Only in GoT could an incest next to the body of their dead son in the middle of a church seem par for the course.
Tywin is still playing the game at a very high level. He definitely has self preservation at heart.

Not just incest. Im pretty sure that would qualify as rape as well.
This is not to start a whole "stop discussing the book" thing - but that scene actually bothered me. In the book, Jaime does NOT rape her. I'm not sure what that accomplishes, it makes you think less of his character and it would make some sympathize with Cersei. I'm just curious to see where that goes.
Yeah, I too thought that that scene was a turd. I wanted to side with Jamie. I like his character, but that scene put dark cloud over him now.
I still don't feel bad for Cersei. Didn't she just lie seconds before that saying a quote that Tyrion said to her but was actually what she said to him?
