"Poison is a women's weapon". I know that quote was stated in season 1 don't remember from who thou. The other question is whom orchestrated this operation to kill the king. This was not a one person job.

I think it was maybe Pycelle?

I think you may be right. I believe he was talking to Ned Stark about if poison killed Jon Arryn (memory is a little fuzzy).

I think so, too. I've been rereading the first book, and I'm fairly certain it's him in the book, at least. It seems like he and Ned also had that conversation when Ned came and got the big book of kings.

Pycelle has knowledge and possession of poisons. He is Cersei's creature though. Tyrion sniffed him out before throwing him into the dungeon. It is certainly possible, but getting Pycelle to conspire against Cersei would be difficult, unless he was really convinced Joffrey was a monster.

Yep. You can actually see it in the episode. It's on camera.

Rewatched it last night and yes if you watch it in slow motion you can see one of the light blue gems in her fingers for 1 or 2 frames. Happens too fast to really see it at regular speed.

Oh, I agree totally - sorry, I meant to say (and didn't explain) that I think it was Pycelle who called it a woman's poison. Sorry about that, my brain is faster than my fingers today.

I think you're right, I don't think Pycelle would turn on Cersei - although he can't be happy after being publicly reprimanded and sent away from the wedding.

This is not a spoiler, just a screenshot. Guys likely wouldn't notice it, but Sansa's necklace was definitely missing a droplet. However, a lot of people were near her, and she was near the cup, so it doesn't really clarify much of anything. And who knows if it just fell off or what.

After watching again I still say it's the pie....

Ok, it's not the pie. I guess I'm going with the Sansa theory with help from Dontos. She had direct access to the cup right before he had the last drink. The only problem I had with this theory is that was an awfully fortuitous circumastance that led to the cup being in her hands. But I suppose if the plan was to poison him when the opportunity arrises she may have been ready to take advantage of the moment. Both of them definitely had as much motivation as anyone to kill him. I suppose it could have been one of the Tyrell's, but they have as much to lose as to gain IMO.

I don't think she would have the guts to do it and I don't think she would have any way to get her hands on the poison. Although as it looks now she may have had it on her the whole time but didn't know it.

Only in GoT could an incest next to the body of their dead son in the middle of a church seem par for the course.

Tywin is still playing the game at a very high level. He definitely has self preservation at heart.

I gained all kinds of respect for Tywin I didn't previously have when he was teaching Tommen about what made a "great king".

I also loved how Dany bombarded Meereen with the chains of the freed slaves of the previous cities she "visited".

Excellent finish to the episode. Wonder how the trial will go for Tyrion. Poor guy can't catch a break.

Not just incest. Im pretty sure that would qualify as rape as well.

Thought tonight's episode was great. Seemed to set up a lot of interesting story lines going forward. I'm interested to see what happens between LittleFinger and Sansa. He said everyone in the capitol was liars, and then proceeded to tell Sansa she was going to be safe (seems fishy).

This is not to start a whole "stop discussing the book" thing - but that scene actually bothered me. In the book, Jaime does NOT rape her. I'm not sure what that accomplishes, it makes you think less of his character and it would make some sympathize with Cersei. I'm just curious to see where that goes.

Yeah, I too thought that that scene was a turd. I wanted to side with Jamie. I like his character, but that scene put dark cloud over him now.

Exactly, it makes him pretty unlikable. I just don't know what it was going to accomplish. Cersei was just manipulating him to murder their own brother, and somehow that scene still came out with her being the victim?

Always dodging between light and dark. Didn't like the scene, but love J.R.R.'s ability to walk in the gray.

I still don't feel bad for Cersei. Didn't she just lie seconds before that saying a quote that Tyrion said to her but was actually what she said to him?
