I don't remember which poster, but someone has a signature on CF that reads something like: "Men just want to have fun; women want to take fun out into the woods and shoot it".

We have a kid here, 19 or 20 years old, who is genuinely excited about being a part of the Cyclone team, and okay - maybe he's a little hyped up. He will get nailed by the media and opposing fans soon enough. Does he have to hear it from the people he's looking forward to entertaining with his gameplay?

Some of you are a bunch of crabby old women.

People can be 100% right and still be an ***-hat.

Let's not act like guaranteeing a conference championship is this great thing that is super beneficial.

He did't say "I think we will come in and play with every team and have a really great season."

He guaranteed a conference championship. When ISU has literally never done that.

I love the enthusiasm but it's not productive, it's just something to laugh at and dismiss at best and it's something you'd expect the coaches to be angry about at worst.

But, like I said, ISU is so far away from a conference championship that the prediction probably doesn't do any harm and it's not a big deal.

Demond Tucker doesn't understand the Cyclone kick to the nads yet..

"I guarantee that we're going to win and I feel like it's going to be a great day in Ames when we win it," Tucker said.

Gotta love that optimism though.

He's planning to refund the scholarship if they don't deliver... :jimlad:

Welcome to the Rainbows and Sunshine crowd Demond! I'll buy what you're laying down and be there to cheer you each and every game in our new stadium! Love this attitude!

Yep, he has the balls and courage to believe he can make a difference. He is willing to work in order to excel. To lead others and take the challenges with optimism and change our record, good for him.
You are a eunuch, no balls, no courage, no change, can't put up but won't shut up.
Negative attitudes can't produce positive results, your living proof.

I wish every guy on that roster had that attitude. Sadly, with the exception of maybe a couple, none of them do.

Not sure why the players would have that attitude when CPR dropped talk about winning championships from his stump speech a couple years ago.

Love the attitude, absolutely love it. We need more guys like this. As a fan, I wish I could be like that.

This post. Kid sounds like a winner. Hopefully the other players catch on to his attitude.

I honestly feel like part of the problem is the players are mentally beat before they even step on the field.

Well, I feel terrible for him if he did pick ISU without doing any research. Not really difficult to find out we have been the lauging stock of college football for most of our history.

I like player saying this. I kind of got the feeling this past season that the team was surprised when they were winning a game. Like they didn't come out expecting to win. no matter what the odds are, if you don't come out of the locker room, thinking you can win every game, then you shouldn't be playing the game.

I don't know who set the tone in the locker room this year, but it sure seemed to me a lot of guys came out just hoping it would all end soon. Even in games we played well, it usually took us a quarter or so to warm up the tires.

We need ALL Cyclone fans to tell our football team that they suck and that it is hopeless. When they have confidence tell them they suck so they have an inferiority complex. Tell the Cyclone Football team that they are hopeless. That getting recruits that can help the team is a hopeless endeavor. Cyclones suck. Cyclones suck. Cyclones suck. That should be our new cheer EVERY Game. The WHOLE Game. Cyclones suck. Cyclones suck. Cyclones suck. We must crush all optimism. Any positive comments must be met with negativity. Cyclones suck. Cyclones suck. Cyclones suck. Only the TRUE Cyclone Fans are honest enough to echo those words.:jimlad:

I feel sorry for him. He has no idea what he just walked into.

He knows exactly what he's walked into. He knows more about what he's walked into than you know about what he's walked into. Turning this whole effing thing around isn't going to happen with players that walk into Ames thinking along the lines that you are thinking. Now, if the rest of the team, and the coaching staff, get on board with this attitude, then we just might have a fighting chance.

I like it that a player who is preparing to expend a lot of effort believes he and the team have a chance to win the conference title. Otherwise, why undertake the journey? Can you imagine getting up at 5 am every day in pursuit of mediocrity? Frankly, that's why it's puzzling that the team has come out flat over and over these past two years. I like it even more that he might try to get others in that locker room to believe they can succeed. Whether any of us believe it can happen is immaterial. The players and the coaches are the ones that can make it happen.

Maybe the team believed in themselves and then started reading all the negativity on this forum.

If you don't think you can do something but try anyway, you have already failed.

He's all-in. Quite obviously he's CRAZY, but you get enough guys with that attitude and it can change a culture.

There is nothing wrong with being confident and saying that your team can compete at a high level.

You could probably find something wrong with guaranteeing a conference championship at Iowa State when it has never happened and you are coming off of 5 wins in two years.

These two things are not mutually exclusive and I would never belittle a player for having confidence in his team, but you can't go that far and go on the record. His statement is genuinely laughable no matter how positive it is that he is confident and optimistic.
