I dont know man, some people value roots. ISU will take good care of him and his family as long as hes successfull here. There is something to creating a program of your own and sustaining it.

That can be enticing. You can end up being a virtual demigod. Look at Tom Osborn. He had plenty of offers -- some even from NFL teams -- and he turned them all down, in favor of the long-term stability that the Huskers provided. He even has his name on UNL buildings now. That kind of virtual immorality can be attractive.

Right on. I think the attendance thing is a real key. We need to show that we're behind what he's building.

When we start putting some consecutive 7,8,9,10 win seasons together, the people will definitely show up and support the team. Once they really start to believe and the average fair weather fan gets off the sideline and in the stadium ISU will really start to reap the rewards. Attendance is up, revenue is up, donations will go up = a cycle of winning as opposed to waiting.

ISU is a sleeping giant.

Paul Rhoads wants to turn Iowa State into a destination job.

In other news, I didn't know he was only 43, I had him pegged as being older.

He is the perfect fit for ISU. ISU is a perfect fit for him. It is a good marrage. IMO, If he does leave it wont be till after his dad passes away. I think family means a lot to him and being close to them is something he loves more than any amout of money. Yes ISU will have to pay him when the time comes, but ISU will get a good ROA on any amount they pay him. Maybe ISU cannot afford not to pay him well.

How much do we pay him compared to Ferentz? KF has been there 12 years and is as hot a prospect so if we can keep CPR in that range I think he will be okay. Plus the fact he is very close to his home town just maybe someone might come and actually want to be coach at ISU.

I'm thinking he's our Jo Pa.

I agree. if we treat him right, he will stick around for a long time. I think Pollard and Geoffrey realize how important football success is to the university now, and will do whatever necessary to make it successful.
