Rather than lose an entire year of eligibility could he go to a Juco this summer and fall then play as a Soph in January?
Usually a school requires final 30 credits from a school to graduate. Or does he have to be a year removed from the D1
school even with the Associate degree?

I thought this Gibbs news was out last week? Maybe its now just "official" He has already redshirted so would only have 2 years left, unless it was medical. Anyone know if he's friends with Marcus Paige?

Are you sure?...That doesn't seem right to me.

He would have played a ton for us this last year. good player. 4 star top 100 recruit. Great size for a PG. One of the smarter players out there. Would be a great get and an Iowa kid

If he was good enough to get offers from us, Gonzaga and Wisconsin out of high school, then spending 2 years in one of CBB's most successful programs surely didn't do anything to hurt his standing. I'd love to have him.

It definately was down to us and the Zags! I remember clearly being disappointed when he ended up choosing them over us. He's a big guard 6'5 or so, I would think WE would be in the drivers seat. Plus like others have said, hes the "type" of player who could probably excel playing for and learning from Fred. This would be a gReAt transfer to get IMO!

According to Matt Perrault's Twitter, he has a source telling him that Gibbs has asked for his release from Gonzaga.

I haven't seen him play for Gonzaga. His stats are underwhelming, but he was a redshirt freshman. He's got pretty good size, he was a relatively highly touted kid out of Linn-Mar, and I know Iowa and ISU were both after him.

Should we be after him?

Here we go again . . .

That could be bad for us, though. Afterall, it's about us, not him.

Second thought...Doesn't do him any good on the academic side of things. Can only transfer so many credits..65, 70, I can't remember.

redshirting is pretty messed up in today's game. the school doesn't get anything out of it when a player transfers....and the players lose a year of college playing time. you gotta really love your school if you decide to redshirt....
