This is an oldie but a goodie in the fireworks **** up department.

Some favorite stories my family likes to look back on are the things that almost went very badly during fireworks at gatherings.

It is clear that people who say SNL isn't funny haven't watched this.

People just remember the hits. And particular tend to remember the hits around the time they were in high school.

SNL has always been a show where in any given episode on average there's a couple sketches that hit, a couple that are somewhat funny, a couple that are meh, and a couple that are downright bad. Everyone forgets almost everything but the hits.

Not all that dissimilar from people remembering the hits from a prior decade and forgetting all the lower quality stuff mixed in that never gets any play anymore.

I really wanted to say "It's mind blowing how many people lose their heads when it comes to doing stupid things." but thought it might be too insensitive.

I guess I'm an old stooge. I like watching fireworks done professionally, but never understood the fandom for the other.

They are a medical and fire hazzard, a waste of money, messy, and dogs and vets become unnerved. There! Scrooge rant over! :D

I had to hold my sick toddler's ears from 845 to 1030 when I raged texted my spouse to take over. Despite a sound machine cranked up. When we swapped we put mowing earmuffs on him. When the main stuff stopped, it got quiet and I slowly took my hands off the sleeping childs ears and the next ******* door neighbors started lighting off their own **** making the kid wake and cry, they are lucky I didn't light a Roman candle up their ass.

I have firmly moved over to the camp of **** this day and its two weeks of associated noise. I'll come out in about a half decade.

I apologize to my friends here.

I mistakingly posted political comments here on the 4th. Mistakenly because I saw the thread headline, the various art and videos, and I had it in my head that I was in the political forum.

Knowingly I would never violate the forum category rules, I believe in them fully.

So, again, I tell anyone I inadvertantly annoyed that I am sorry. Happy to be off my (deserved) five-day ban so that I can post a mea culpa.

We all make mistakes. I make one once a year, or so.

Thank you for your post.
