They aren’t great, but they’re two late field goals away from being 4-1 and tied for 1st place.
The OU one I will give you, but losing by 3 at home to Texas Tech isn't exactly a feather in the cap. MAYBE had that been in Lubbock. Oh and don't forget they lost at home to Maryland who sucks something fierce. Again, I am not saying WVU is a terrible team, but I certainly wouldn't call them good. If the defense plays even halfway close to what they normally do this game is a 10+ point win.

I am still scratching my head how we score 31 and have 239 rushing yards yet lost. That is exactly how we are built to win games. Oh and had you also told me we won the turnover battle with one being a pick 6, there is no way I would have said we lost. This was just a weird game.

I liken their Tech loss to our loss at home to Baylor in 2005. We had just lost a 2OT heartbreaker at Nebraska and came back the next week with a total dud against a bad Baylor team.

The Maryland game was a total turnover fest like our game against Iowa this year.

All that may be true, but in the end you are what your record says you are. We know more than any fan base about being close and having 2-3 games of "what ifs" but in the end, they are losses. To me that just says a mediocre team that is way too inconsistent. ISU could fall into that same boat depending on how we rebound against Texas. Any way you slice it, we were favored by a TD in Morgantown (so 10 points on a neutral field roughly with WVU getting 3 pts at home) and lost.

Umm......no, they lost to Maryland and Texas Tech already. This was one of the most embarrassing losses I've seen in quite some time. Easily the worst loss in the Big 12 this entire season so far by any of the contenders.

I get it but WV can get a bowl and have been close including vs. OU.

I know we love to pump up our opponents after losses, but WVU is not a good team and they are poorly coached. OSU will take care of them next week.
I agree with your first take 100%, but we got outcoached badly today. They put together a great game plan offensively and our defense stayed the course and didn’t adapt at all.

I had us going 9-3 after the Iowa loss. While still possible, probably unlikely. I'd sign up for 8-4 at this point. Kind of a letdown given expectations, but whatever. It is what it is.

ISU could end up 5-7 with the our 5 small offensive guards O-line and Brocktober ending

Reality is we’re staring at the possibility of 7 wins when Vegas said we’d win 9.5, that sucks. Beat OU and I won’t be so bitter.

Eh, that's a bit of an overreaction. The defense probably won't play that poorly again given the track record. I think we win out at home and at Tech, and lose to OU. Though losing 2 of the next 4 won't surprise me either, sadly.

Granted the defense was bad an we definitely missed Rose, but I’m concerned that maybe teams are finally figuring out what to do against our defense

Maybe you haven’t noticed, but playing OU close really is not an accomplishment. Absolute garbage like Nebraska, KU and Tulane all played them close.

yeah that wvu team is actually really poorly coached I think, and not very talented either, really no excuse to lose to them
