i dont understand how he had a backsided compliment, it seemed sincere to me
I was 100% sincere. You guys have an impressive team and I think you'll beat UConn and give us all we can handle in the third round. Yes, I'm biased against the Big East, but my opinion of your team's chances has nothing to do with that. I picked Iowa State to beat UConn on our message board as well. As for your opinions of our fans, our state and the city of Louisville, I think you'll have a different opinion after you leave there. Again, best of luck and I hope we see a UK/ISU match-up on Saturday.

Interesting bitter personal rivalry between Calipari & Calhoun. Goes all the way back to UMass v UConn in the late '80's - early '90's. CBS would probably love to see that matchup.....hope we don't get hosed over by the refs.

If we lose will CBS be advertising "Sanction Saturday"?

Yeah. Calipari has been a cheater his whole career, which is why he's had two final fours vacated (so far), and an agent fed Marcus Camby money to get him to come to UMess rather than UConn.
Calhoun made mistakes, to be sure, but it was, essentially, his failure to monitor his assistants sending far too many text messages to a recruit.
Camby got 40 grand from an agent, and Calipari has always been tied closely to the agents (see WWW today at UK).

So, yeah, UConn's program is not spotless, but it's the difference between a bar fight and a murder.

Kentucky is quickly rivaling Dook for title of "most rooted against team."

I can see the conspiracy theory threads now...

Lots of inaccuracies in your post, but I'm sure you're just going by what the media tells you. Calipari doesn't have a single NCAA violation in his entire coaching career. None. Camby took money from an agent, but it was during his Junior year at UMass, not during his recruitment, as you suggest. None of Camby's coaches or teammates knew anything about it, until he admitted it. Once Calipari got wind of it, he himself went to the NCAA about it. He turned in his own star player. The NCAA investigated and obviously determined Camby took money from an agent, but no teammates or coaches were found to have committed any violations. That was a story about a poor kid and a dirty agent, not about a dirty coach.

Believe me, a lot of UK fans had doubts about the Calipari hire, because most of us only knew what some media outlets reported. But once you look into it closer, it becomes a much different story. Our AD went over Calipari's career intensely and even contacted the NCAA about the hire. The NCAA says Calipari is clean as a whistle. There's not even a hint of a violation during his career. If he ever crosses the line at UK, he will be gone and I will support that decision fully, but I've seen nothing to cause me to believe that will ever happen.

I'll bet that didn't happen.

We too would be cheering for Kentucky to beat Missouri Valley State/Western Kentucky.

We matchup better with Kentucky than we do with MVS or WK. Best of luck in that game!

Are you sure we want MVSt again, this time on a neutral floor?:jimlad:

And if you beat us, I want to be sworn in as a deputy Iowan to root against the slimeballs you'll face in round 2.

I love it. This is what I love about college sports. Good natured ribbing and 100% support for our teams. Can't help but to respect your coach and program. As we are regaining relevance on the college hoops scene, this is a great game for ISU. If we get a W here, it only improves our ability to recruit on the national scene.
