True. Newton used to be a powerhouse, smash mouth football team. they just dont have the numbers in that town to compete at 4-A anymore. Waukee replaced them in the CIML and Newton is on the way out of 4-A

Newton has 200 less students to go before they reach 3A levels.

from what i heard Newton is moving down to 3A once Ankeny builds a new high school. Then the conferences will go as follows:

NEWTON is much too large for 3A. Ankeny has nothing to do with that.
