How many wins will it take?

For me, I need to see 6 wins and a competitive showing in a bowl game before I'm back on board with this regime.

If we lose to UNI I would fire Rhoads before he gets back to the locker room. You just can't lose to a 1AA school three years in a row.

I think a 5 win season will be enough for the AD to bring him back. That said, I really don't see myself being all in at that point, maybe cautiously optimistic at best.

You keep saying that this is the best staff we have ever had and that this is the most talent we have ever had. Why are we 5-19 the last two years and will no doubt suck again this year? Something is wrong with your assessment of ISU football!

Because only an idiot expects a staff to turn around a young team in one year. Especially one hurt so bad that it only had four players start the enitre year. Do you even know how many guys start?

You're gonna be eating a lot of crow when they are back in a bowl game, and just once again proving that you talk out of your *** and don't know anything other than stars and the box score. Too stupid to use your own eyes.

I'm not really in the crosshairs of your rant, but I think most of us would take that. :twitcy:

I'm not trying to be a smart *** here...but do you really believe that we will be in a bowl game next year?

I watched every game last year, my eyes work just fine, and I would be very surprised to be in a bowl next year.

We are REALLY relying on JUCO's to make a big impact. The guys on the front 7 on defense last year were just not good at all. Not even competitive in several games. I don't foresee our schedule lightening up from last season so this worries me most.

I'd love to hear your reasoning behind why we are going to a bowl this season. I'm sure it goes something like easier schedule, if we only stay healthy, more experienced team than last year, etc.

Honestly I need to see 5 wins minimum and a chance to see our team play in a bowl game. That's what it will take for me to believe.

I predict that we will be closer to six wins than we will be to 2 wins.

And those who are predicting Rhoads will be fired if we have 5 wins don't have a clue.

I have no idea how people can be picking the team to go to a bowl when there is nothing to back that up other than pure speculation. It might appear right now that some of the Big 12 will be down compared to last year but who knows. I think there are too many question marks to predict what this team will be next year because I think they could get anywhere from 1-6 wins. I think UNI will definitely be a win but other than that I dont know.
If I had to bet I would say 4 wins. And I think Rhoads will be gone if he doesn't go to a bowl

We had people saying that last year too.

As stated before, most people here aren't predicting a bowl. We're stating that it'll take a bowl invite to show us that Rhoads turned it around and is on the right path again. Earlier I said Rhoads needs six wins and a bowl invite for me to be satisfied. I fully expect to be disappointed (3-4 wins) and if progress isn't met, I expect Rhoads will be fired or on a very very hot seat.

However many games we win, I predict that total will be the exact number that Jamie was looking for to determine that we are making acceptable progress.

I don't understand why people are so negative. Yes last year sucked. Looking back on all those losses, there were a few games were it was just a few plays that would have made a difference. The margin of error is not that big with our team. I think its fair to say that most people who follow Cyclone football know this. So stop jumping off a bridge and control what we can and support this team. I can tell you that people on the team, the coaching staff and others notice how passionate our fan base is. Hell even down here in Fort Worth I get complements on how full our stadium looks even when we have a bad record. TCU players commented on how amazed they were when they played us up in Ames last season in the Fort Worth Star Telegram. We need to keep it up.
