When my wife makes me. Usually that is based on when guests come over. I’d probably do it bi-annually if it was let up to me.

No shoes in the house, no kids, no pets anymore, etc so about once every three weeks .We just got new carpet last week after having generic builder carpet for the first 13 years. It was tan and there was only one stain but it was pretty messed down.

As far as vacuum cleaners, Reddit asked a professional and he said bagless are the worst, Dyson is the Bose of vacuum cleaners, and Shark are throwaway if they break. He recommended some German brand that I notice best buy carries . Meile

I'm surprised at people who say they vacuum daily or more. I don't have that kind of time.

We have a cat and some little kids, and we're at about every 2 or 3 weeks. I'm going to buy a robot one to try to increase that on our main living level.

Got our Dyson Animal after we got the cat. It was very pricey but seems to work well. But I can tell after 6 or 7 years now the plastic connections are wearing. The canister pops off when carrying the vacuum. Just little things that a machine of that price shouldn't do.

We have one dog and run our Roomba about every other day. I am amazed at how much that thing picks up every time we run it. It does a much better job than I thought it would.

"We" run the roomba every other day in the allergy bedroom but Max (my wife named our roomba) died (or was killed by dust bunny???) under our king size bed last week and there he/she remains.

What's everyone's take on best vacuum? I thank Dyson's are all hype, and Shark's are the way to go. Thoughts?

Echo what someone else said - Dysons suck HARD in a good way but the plastic parts don't give one comfort of being a long-term solution. Ours IS over 10 years old but it doesn't feel like a vacuum of old.

Every day in the spring when our Siberian Husky is shedding big chunks of fur. Other than that once a week.
Yes daily with huskies! We have 3 and the season has arrived. Can't brush them enough either

A thorough job on everything including the stairs about once a month with the Dyson (usually when we are having people over) and a quick once over with the cheap one in the main areas once a week.

Never. My house keeper does it every other week. Living alone, things don’t get dirty.

This thread has me now considering purchasing a robot vacuum. We don't have pets but we have a messy three year old and my wife and I struggle to keep up with vacuuming and sweeping. Any recommendations on what to get or if they are worth it? Not a big budget to work with but want something decent.

I own a corgi. He sheds enough per day to make a new corgi. Minimum, weekly. Best case, every couple days.

I'm also interested in robot vacuum recommendations.

Used to not have to vacuum as much, but ended up with a cat who sheds a decent amount so that will have to change.

My friends have three different types of robot vacuums. Seeing them work in action I wouldn't get anything besides the Roomba. It looks far superior and does a much better job from me watching each one once. The others were a Deebot and a Eufy.

Take that with a grain of salt since I only watched each one once
