How's that 3-4 defense working for you now CPR?

OK, it is now apparent to me that our coaching staff doesn't know what in the hell to do in conference play. They are completely out classed.

We are told that we are going to a 3-4 defensive scheme to combat the air raid type offense that is so prevalent in the Big12, because we sucked last year on defense and couldn't compete. Well as we saw today that our oh so great 3-4 defense was completely outclassed. What the hell do we do now? Just pull the defense off the field all together and just put everybody on offense?

Don't know if Wally had a complete brain fart or not but maybe it is time for a change in defensive coaching staff. To me that is the only way CPR should be able to keep his job this year.
Paul needs to go too.

Let's not forget they had a QB with a bad knee wearing a big brace whose accuracy dropped significantly when he was scrambling.

Even if you drop on the snap, at least threaten press coverage. The further down field they have to throw it reduces the percentage of completion. Another issue, we do not have defensive backs that can cover for the eight seconds they had to scan the field.

Do you want to die to the big sword(big play) or to a thousand cuts(the underneath routes that turned into big plays).

Please get our back defensive backs within 15 yards of the ball and lets see what happens.

3-4 is all about scheme. Where is the guy blitzing from this time, where is the coverage rolling to, etc. There was no blitz, there was no masked coverage. You can't run a 3-4 with no pressure. The DBs sitting 10-15 yds off the line of scrimmage was absolutely mind boggling. Press the dang WRs, bring a blitz from any and all directions, mix up your LBs, mix up your D-line, for Gods sake watch some film of a 3-4 that actually does what it's supposed to...create havoc.
