Almost all of those schools schedule at least one Power 4/ND game in the non-conference. Is there a reason they would rather play teams like Cal and Duke than Iowa State?
Because we don’t stink?

Even though I hit disagree, using the word most, I'm guessing you are right. It's a nice regional rival, old B8 school. JP dropped the ball when he didn't do them as a protected rival.IMO.
Why does everyone blame JP? Two teams have to agree and we aren’t even their main rival. It’s far more likely KSU took KU as a protected rival than us. Same thing we would do if Iowa was in the Big 12.

We've lost Missouri and Nebraska as rivals. I know they're not gone completely but we onky have KSU and Iowa left that we play every year.

I just love the extra juice in the excitement leading up to those games and want to keep that thing going.

Well I have good news for you. You can feel the juice this year, next year, and probably 2028. It’s likely we see KSU 8-9 times every 10 years.

It’s not going away permanently.

I originally voted yes, but I think I let recency bias get the best of me. I'd really, really like a crack at Nebraska again. And Missouri. Beating Minnesota and Iowa in the same year would also be neat.

When the CyHawk goes away I think adding KSU on the off years would be fine. Either way, we are probably at most 5 years away from the B1G and SEC not playing ACC or Big 12 schools in the non con...
The CyHawk isn’t going away.

The elephant in the room would put their foot down. In this case, that would be the Iowa Legislature.

Why not put them in and maintain the streak? Are you afraid we will lose to them too often?

We don't have a conference rival in football.

We maybe have a 1-way rivalry with Kansas in basketball, but that's it.

Just because someone named it doesn't mean it's real

“Likely”? It’s demonstrated that they did.

I don’t get the chicken littling on this issue. We’re not their primary rival, and it’s likely only a one year break.

No.

Just remember the outrage when it was first released. It still pops up time to time how “the rivalry is ended” on social media. Just one man’s opinion that it’s not a big of deal as some make it out to be. Especially when you consider we aren’t even their primary rival.

outside of the 2 fanbases, no one cares about the rivalry lets be real.
- any cfb rivalry ever

I never watched a single OU vs. Texas game during their time in the B12.

My opinion would be continue it every year or just play them the same as any other old team. If you aren't going to respect the tradition then just blow it up and play them as much as UCF or ASU.
