Of course, but to make a blanket poll like this and say it's pretty clear what should be done at the end of the season I don't think is a firm grasp in reality.

There are way more many factors weighing into the decision than just Money.

I'm on the fence. And I don't envy Pollard in this decision. It's way above my pay grade but I can look at it and say just because we aren't winning, doesn't mean that firing our coach is the best answer.

If GMAC is retained I might be done on a more permanent basis with Cyclone basketball. It will take more then just winning to bring me back at that point. Future expenditures on Cyclone athletic events would also be put into jeopardy as that revenue would be funnelled into the giant sinkhole that GMAC has built. What a shame.

Really? So sad. We'll miss you.

No doubt whatsoever...If $$$ were NO object Greg Mac would have been fired after the Mizzou game...

Its interesting that Lynn Nance got fired after the last home conference game and the same should have happened to Greg Mac...

Greg's system of 100 plays instead of Syracuse's 6 plays just is NOT Working and the guy has got to go for the good of the program...

along with the other 5-5500 not showing up at games next year.

I've heard this so many times over the years and it never turns out like that. There is a certain percentage of fans that come and go, but most will still have those season tickets next year. It's not going to drop off by 5,000 next year.

I'll miss them all and no matter what happens this year, those missing fans are going to be gone next season. But to make a statement that says you'll never be a fan of mbb even if he is retained and starts winning next season. I'm sorry, I can't call that guy a fan. More of a hater of Mac, than a fan. Just because he posts here doesn't make him a fan. I completely understand that people don't want to spend the money or time to watch mediocre bball and that's their right, but to say never to be a fan again, I call them out and say they were never a fan to begin with and just jumped on the bandwagon during our great Tourney runs a decade ago.

That's not true. If JP made a splash with a good hire, the fans would come back next season. See 07 football.

I wish some people with better seats than me would give up on the team. I'd like to move over a few more sections, but it's been tough.

I was under the impresion that the buy out will only shrink by $500K per year. If so to me that makes money less of an issue. To me an equally important issue is the perception in the coaching world that ISU gives their coaches a fair chance to succeed. I would say giving Greg one more year would fit that bill.

Lastly, not sure why but I think Greg will be a better coach w/o Brackins.

I hope nobody leaves. I went to some games this year in Hilton where it was pretty empty, the crowd sucked, and it was incredibly boring. I honestly almost fell asleep a few times.

I think you are right, it isn't going to drop by 5,000 next year because we have already lost 5,000. I would say 4,000 to 5,000 empty seats has been common for most of the season this year. I don't see those people coming back next year. It may fall a little bit more, but I think most of the people left are pretty hardcore and it will take a lot more to get them out.

The thing that bothers me is after four years we look so disorganized on running offensive plays. The plays end up being offensive to the fans. We get ourselves in a piuckle and have to take bad shots.

I think this team plays better in a hurry up mode than 25 seconds of nothing and then Must Force a Shot.

IF money was no object, I would bring in another assistant coach just to fix the offense for the guards. We have so far to develop before we get 25 points out of our guards and some clean passes inside.

Yea, and over those years, when is the last stretch we had when we couldn't win more than 5 conference games in a season over a 4 year stretch, trending worse with each season?

I don't see that fans coming in droves with another season of hope. There isn't a splashy hire for us to make. I think keeping Mac give us a better chance to compete next season than a new coach would. Those teams that turn it around in one year or two are very few and people think it's just takes a snap of the fingers to make it happen.

Next Year:

New Coach - Like your poll, won't be splashy because Money is an issue

Off the grid
This poll is worthless.

I'm going to start a poll that states: "If money were not an issue, should Jake Trice's south end zone be bowled in?"

GMAC is a good Coach Pollard knows it and is giving him 2 more years to get it done. He is very close 12 losses within 5 points in big twelve games during last possesions. Lucca screwed us and our 3 point shooting things will get better.

Jamie P is that you?? Glad to see you on CF today.
