I didn't feel strongly either way but I didn't expect this drastic a change either. So, Xavier is actually good and was a worthy 25? Tell me this is as good as it seems!
They were undefeated with wins over Ohio state. But honestly? Don't care if we were playing mcneese state... It's great to win on a neutral site and dominate the game playing "our way"

Is McDermott a terrible basketball coach? Sometimes things just don't work out and everyone needs a new start. We all recognize, Steve included, a change was overdue. No need to dump on people though. I wish him the best, but never want to see him on our sidelines again. I think he'll get and deserves another chance and very well could do very well. McDermott learned from his failures, CSP has that chance as well.

He’s definitely better than Prohm. Maybe Prohm can turn it around idk. But as of today, he’s the worst coach I’ve ever seen.

It is a small miracle. Program in shambles, JP induces TJ to come in, he brings Grill, picks up a bunch of last second transfers, hangs on to incoming frosh Hunter, and just months later turns out a bunch of these guys can play, and they play well together, and somehow start out 5-0. The football team was expected to win, and came up a bit short, the basketball team was expected to get pounded and so far exceeds all expectations...
Get some veteran players. One phenomenal talent. Plant seeds of culture and playing for each other. Sprinkle in player development and coaching. You get a team that grinds and plays with grit. I don't care how many games this teams wins if they play their game they are easy to root for and entertaining.

GMAC:
before ISU.......good
ISU......not good
after ISU.....good

Fred:
before ISU.....never coached
ISU.....outstanding
after ISU.....not so good

Prohm:
before ISU......good
ISU.....not good
after ISU.....?

If history is consistent he will do well his next stop.

We went from SP teams that had no offense to one that has one using players who for the most part have been together for a short time

Don’t forget hiring Green. That is really helping too

Prohm set a new standard for failure. 2 Wins. Six years in. 2 Wins. Is it okay if I pass on giving Prohm another try?

Also, no momentum killing timeouts after ISU went on a run and extended it's lead...and TJ actually called a TO to stop an OSU run.

Small things but they make a difference.

Another difference is that Brockington and Kalscheur are strong enough to finish when they get to the rim. Bolton was great at getting to the rim but not finishing.

Granted it's only been 2 games but you can already see a difference in coaching and in actual play...there's a different energy with the team and coaching staff and hopefully things keep improving as the season goes on, something that didn't happen the last couple of years.
Prom's timeouts were absolutely nonsensical, drove fans crazy. So thankful that's over.

Our defense gets better each game and we’re fun to watch.

TJ is the way!
