Tj still seems to be figuring this offense out.

Dont forget the team is still getting used to each other too. Only 2 guys back ( 1 guard !!!) and totally whole new rotations and schemes.

Offensive chemistry is barely born yet, much less developed. I think it will improve and you will see less unforced turnovers. But the competitikn will impove too, so it might be really hard to see.

Now do Steve Prohm lol. Never a fit for ISU. No clue what’s we were doing there.
Iirc, the thinking at the time was:
>he was willing to let the older guys do their Hoiball thing and not reset everything to his system
>he had won a lot of games and put a couple guys in the nba at lower level school, people genuinley thought he was a good young coach
>good person, cares about the players, good representative for ISU

I mean, it made sense at the time. Hiring coaches is always a crapshoot. Maybe if he had hired a mentor (eg Bobby Lutz) he would have learned a lot and been better and succeeded. Who knows.

Just give thanks to the pilgrims, turkeys, and all their gods that its over and he is gone.

Promising start to the TJ era, thankful for that! The team does lots of good things. It may not be the most talented or very deep, but we are playing to our strengths and have guys that have made big plays/shots in crunch time. The on the ball pressure and perimeter D was on another level last night. Fun to see Brockington go off like that.

Dude. Cmon. It’s okay to just say he was terrible. We don’t have to lie to ourselves to give false hope for the season anymore.

Steve Prohm was a very bad mens basketball coach. Stand in front of a mirror and say it out loud. It will set you free.

Is McDermott a terrible basketball coach? Sometimes things just don't work out and everyone needs a new start. We all recognize, Steve included, a change was overdue. No need to dump on people though. I wish him the best, but never want to see him on our sidelines again. I think he'll get and deserves another chance and very well could do very well. McDermott learned from his failures, CSP has that chance as well.

It is a small miracle. Program in shambles, JP induces TJ to come in, he brings Grill, picks up a bunch of last second transfers, hangs on to incoming frosh Hunter, and just months later turns out a bunch of these guys can play, and they play well together, and somehow start out 5-0. The football team was expected to win, and came up a bit short, the basketball team was expected to get pounded and so far exceeds all expectations...
