That would be awesome but we've got to figure out those mental funks we get in and can't get out. When a team like WV comes out firing on all cylinders we've got to figure out how to make stops and take it up a notch or two otherwise we'll get blown out by some team. When we play well we can beat any team in the country.

We seem to play to our competition, with the exception of the WVU game all of our games have been pretty close. The Miami Heat seem to do that in the NBA and everyone always over analyzes every game they lose or almost lose but they are fine. We are fine too.

A lot of the funks are frankly missed threes with no rebounders around.

??? Those have contributed in past games, but how many threes did we even attempt during Tech's run today? Couldn't have been many. I recall Niang missing a couple in the 2nd half, but it's not as if we were chucking up garbage to let Tech back in it. We simply weren't playing D and getting defensive boards like we needed to.

Andy Katz seems to agree with the OP in todays Daily Word...
Daily Word - ESPN

[h=3]1. If Kansas is the unanimous No. 1 in the Big 12, who's the second-best?[/h] Andy Katz: Iowa State still possesses the most offensive weapons to be a formidable force. The Cyclones have an experienced unit that has been extremely resilient. DeAndre Kane and Melvin Ejim can each go for 30-plus. Georges Niang can be a tough matchup for any team. If you're looking for a Big 12 team other than Kansas that could reach the Final Four, it's most likely Iowa State.

Sooooo, are those of you that ripped anyone that thinks we have a chance to go to the final four going to rip Andy Katz now? (Sarcasm intended)

It's all going to come down to matchups this year. Just look at Villanova for an example, they're undefeated except for the two games against Creighton who they've lost to by 21, and 28.

^^^This^^^

It always comes down to match-ups. We are just as capable as about 20 other teams of making a run and landing in the final four. Worse teams have made it. This year I don't think anyone is a lock in making the final four including Syracuse. Again would have to see their match-ups.
