So, PR thought him to be guilty of robbing someone, but didn't know for sure, so suspended him for 3 games, pending the courts imminent review in 5 months? And the player is cooperating completely, but PR is still unsure if he robbed someone with a gun.

And now, when the prosecutor has determined that he does indeed feel he has enough of a case to charge him with robbery, PR takes a strong stand and allows him to play against the #2 team in the country in 3 days.

Yes, yes. That makes perfect sense.

It's going to be nothing, just so you know. You don't allow a player to play if you know the facts of the case (he does) and charges were just brought (they were), if you plan to hand out additional punishment.

The legal system works that way, but players are kicked off teams ALL THE TIME for things they are never convicted of.

Why was he suspended? Why is he allowed to currently play?

What has changed from the time he was suspended to now? The only difference is that he's going to be charged with robbery today, yet he's playing on Friday.

Perhaps you do not have all the information available to the coaches and authorities. The T.I. hasn't been filed yet, but you apparently know everything that happened that night.

Here's the bottom line for all of you blissfully ignorant out there:

1. When you hear that one of your players may have been involved in a robbery while brandishing a weapon, you suspend them immediately.

2. You gather as many facts as you can and you determine if it appears the info is correct. If it appears he did rob someone with a weapon, he stays suspended and is kicked off the team. If there is conflicting evidence, you work with the police to determine if it's likely that charges will be brought. If they are still working the case, he stays suspended...because he may have robbed someone with a weapon. The police think so enough that the case is still open. If the case is closed with no charges, suspension lifted.

3. If charges are filed, you suspend that player immediately because the prosecutor believes that he has enough info to convict your player of robbing someone with a weapon. This is the easiest thing in the world. You let this play out prior to letting that kid back on the field, UNLESS you don't intend to punish him any more than you have.

What you don't do is let a player play while awaiting robbery charges.

Anyone with an ounce of moral fiber knows that.
