Last year at this time they were coming off of their second straight conference tourney crown where they won with a last second shot...an opponents missed layup...and coming back from 17 against KU. Everyone was stroking them saying they were a lock for the final four. They were not focused.
There is no stroking them this year. It's all business. In fact, even though it doesn't show up in the win column I think they are playing as good of BB now as they have all year. Having played the #1 team in the country at their place on senior night.......then play a top 10 with the NPOY who are motivated not only to make up for Spangler's missed bunny from last year, but knock off the two time tourney champ was not an easy task. There are not anymore KU's or OU's to come in the near future. And this is as good of draw as we could get, and I think everyone is peaking. Hopefully JM has his head on straight and MM is feeling better. Because if so, this group has the opportunity to go far.

cripes, is this gonna be the thing this year? Every attempt at analysis gets immediately responded to with "UAB!" or "Last year!"
Yeah. UAB beat us last year. If we can't get past that fact, all we can do is say "well poo, anything can happen, we might as well just not even talk about it!"

Yes. That writing has been on the wall all season, even though this year's squad shows up for those games.
Our fans never adjusted to winning well.
Taking a poor view of this team consistently is not realistic IMO. I thought we were a 5 with a chance at a 4. That was realistic. What did you have?
And UAB could have been the best thing to happen to this team (not to ISU in general, but this year's team). That is a big warning flag that should keep our guys focused.
As Georges said when asked about last year, "Not going to happen." That's been burning their *** for a year. They will be focused.
Exactly I hope the team is constantly reminded about UAB. They should force the team to watch that game on a loop until my eyes bleed.
Really, I'm not sure we could have asked for better seeding or a better bracket.
Going to have to slow Iona down and play our game on offense.
Going to have to dictate the tempo against Purdue and find a way to minimize our size deficiency.
Overall, we've got some opportunities here. Have to play well and make the most of it though.

Pretty sure he told one guy who predicted a 4 that he'd be disappointed, so probably predicted a 6.
I thought 5 or 6 like just about anyone else. So what? What does that have to do with anything. It's not like there is some huge line between a 4, 5, or 6.
Not that you'd be disappointed with a 4, I thought you told someone else THEY'D be disappointed if they were expecting a 4. Could have been someone else.
I might have a few weeks ago. I was a little surprised that we got the 4 and many were. Committee definitely puts emphasis on top 50 RPI wins, which we provided a lot of.
