Why is a Wisconsin fan so interested in attending the Iowa-ISU game?

Welp, i was yelled at at Wisky last year and thought it was fun. As long as people don't go too far, bring it on.

I've Been Outta School For A Couple Years, But If I Saw A Kid Supporting The Hawks In The Student Section, I'd Probably Be One To Take It "Too Far"

That's probably more of a reflection on you than anyone else.

Yes you're probably right, but a person cheering for the Hoks in the middle of the Iowa State student section is a reflection of their self entitlement.

I got no problem with opposing fans in Hilton. Just not the ones that cheat the system, and take away from our own students.

In your case, probably not all your fault. I'm just as disappointed in your Iowa State friends that are allowing this. I guess sometimes I need to realize that not all Iowa State fans/students are as loyal as some of us.

Just doesn't seem like a fun guy if he takes it that personally. I love it when other fans are there to talk to during games. Whether it's playful or just sharing thoughts on the game, if they aren't being a ****, they don't bother me.

This is really pretty cut and dry: It's our student section. You aren't a student here, so you shouldn't be sitting in the student section. Period.

The student section, no matter where you're at, is not and should not be, the same as the rest of the crowd.

I don't think anyone is going to change their minds here so lets get some predictions. Ill go first: 87-80 ISU.

If ISU is sloppy/stupid with the ball I predict a very close game (50/50 type outcome). Hilton will typically keep us in any game down to the final minute.

If ISU takes care of the ball, or Iowa's press doesn't present a lot of problems, I see ISU winning by 8+.

I've watched ISU play 5 times and all of Iowa's games and two things I think Iowa will be able to do is cause problem's with the press and get to the foul line. Other than that I'm not sure what to expect.

Edit: I'll add; if either has a remotely off night shooting, things could get ugly for them. (Since it's at Hilton you guys are more likely to overcome that obviously).

I went to Dayton last year for the first round (ok, it's officially the second round now, but I still think it's stupid to call the play-in games the first round) and sat next to Notre Dame and Ohio State fans (Ohio State played the game before, and a lot stuck around to see who they'd play). Very cool talking with them. BUT that was on a neutral court. And not in our student section. If you were even an Iowa State student who was a hawk fan (as much as I hate that) it'd be more acceptable. But you're not even that. I'm not for physical abuse, but I hope Cyclone Alley does its job and kicks you out of the section.

I get your point which is why i really don't plan on being a loud or obnoxious fan or anything like that. I just want to sit/stand with my friends and watch basketball.

I get the points about the student section being for students.

Besides that I don't see the big deal. But while I love me some ISU BB, I'm not as into the rivalry (esp. with the Hawks) as many others.
