pete jok is a nobody. Nobody outside of the state knows who he is. He was a big deal as an 8th grader and his biggest claim to fame is that he is related to Manute Bol, He is a 3 star (however I agree stars dont matter) I cant think of any scholarship player that I would trade for him. The only reason Iowa fans even brag him up is because he once was a "name" player back in the day. He is like the child star that grew up and now does broadway plays, you recognize the name but still dont care.

Feel free to go correct Jon Miller and the rest of your entire fanbase:

Hawkeyes Dreams Dashed in Chicago

I'm not in that thread, complaining about the refs. I told you I can't police all the stupid on the internet. I will read the thread though, and see just how many actually blame the loss on the officials.

Meanwhile get back to me on these threads.

Exactly. While I assume you are a moron, I agree with you that there are far to many cry about the refs threads on CF. They need their own opt in forum.

First of all, thank you for the complement. I have upgraded from an "idiot" to a "moron", and it feels good.

Secondly blaming the refs if for teenagers and losers.....and yes I have blamed the refs from time to time.

And if you care at all about what some posters call you on here, it's time to go to a good shrink about your insecurity and low self esteem issues. So keep plugging away, dean !! I like your effort here.

Link? Only thing I've ever seen was a LANYSports.com or something like that I've never heard of.

If he got hurt as a sophomore he would have had an offer from ISU as a freshman if he was that good. i.e. Jerry Myles, Rashad Vaughn, etc

You must not follow recruiting.

I can't go back and get old rankings.
But From looking at old threads on message boards ESPN had him number ten and rated 97
I remember reading article on rivals that said he was one of the top in 2013. It was about the talent in Iowa from Barnes to Jok.

Someone tell me why I care about Iowa again?

You know what Big 10 opponent I'd rather play? Ohio State. I say we drop the series with Iowa and replace them with the Buckeyes.

Yep. Its a lose/lose vs Iowa. If we win, we were supposed to anyways. If we lose, its a terrible loss and resume killer!!!!

Some of the complaints from us fans of ISU getting jobbed by officials in mbb and fb games in the last year, have been echoed by the TV announcers, and other nationally-recognized sports people (KU & Ohio St MBB games; Texas fb games)

With the Hawks, the only time they get 'jobbed' is when Eddie, Dolph, Fran, and Jon Miller say so

big, colossal difference

I follow recruiting. I have no doubt he was considering a top 100 type player his freshman year but if he was considered top ten he would have had offers as a freshman. That's how recruiting works.

Iowa with a thug transfer? Thug? One transfer - from Cedar Rapids? Which team is it that has been loading up on transfers every year, including jucos who were not eligible out of high school? Didn't 4 isu transfers leave school last spring without getting drafted, and without staying around to get a degree? Interesting.

Thats like saying you were the number one 6 year old guitar player, it doesnt matter if you never progressed from there.

I guess I don't know where you got that he had offers as a freshman?

Either way, never understood why people say they wish ISU had him. He would have been the worst HS recruit on paper Hoiberg brought in. Regardless I'm tired of talking about the kid, if he is anything besides an avg role player at Iowa I will be surprised.

Thank you for the cite. I stand corrected and apologize. I'm not mad either. There does seem to be an inordinate amount of venom directed at Iowa in these CyFan threads. What did Iowa ever do to isu to draw so much unabashed hatred? the Hawks have been down in FB for 2-3 years now, and way down in BB for several years prior to last. Many of the contributors sound as if they derive more pleasure out of Hawkeye failures than they do Clone success. Maybe the Hawkeye forums are just as bad. I rarely read this stuff and honestly don't know. I'm certain there are some rabid Hawkeye idiots out there, as there are with every school, but the Iowa fans I know are relatively neutral about the Clones. The Clone fans I know all hate the Hawks. I guess i'm just be out of touch.

IIRC Jok was very highly rated as a frosh at Roosevelt. Got hurt and did well for the CIML last year. No doubt he deserved the mr basketball or whatever it was. However, last year(and I went to >10 of his games) he did not show me much that would lead me to believe that he would be a b10 or b12 player. Couldn't get to the bucket on ANYONE and didn't play very good d. Very good shooter, but his ability to create his shot will be limited in the b10.
