Marble is the only one that I would want off their team.

There isn't another player that would log anything other than garbage minutes for us.

They're still dangerous, especially with the ridiculous way fouls are being called this year. Iowa has quite a few spazzy type players who are gonna benefit from their lack of coordination. They have a bunch of one dribble guys that can take two steps towards the basket. I can see games where the refs bail them out over and over.

They're an ok team that should be ranked anywhere from 20-40. That's about it.

Our ceiling is much, much higher.

^^^ this...
The Hawks are worried about making the tournament under Fran.
As an ISU fan I am more concerned about what seed CFH gets and the matchups when the Clones past the first weekend.
Any team can get hot and win a individual game (not that I think that will happen at Hilton) but ISU has the potential top 3 conference finish and deep tourney run. The expectations of the teams should be different after two NCAA appearances compared ton 2 NIT ones and they are.

I agree with this. If you were to put together a starting 5 with both Iowa and ISU players, Marble is the only one I'd want on my starting 5 from Iowa. The rest would be Cyclones. Put Marble in place of Matt Thomas and you'd have one helluva starting lineup.

The bolded portion of your post is utterly ridiculous, and shows that you lack perspective.

Really, those one on one matchups probably aren't going to be such a huge factor, as I see Iowa going zone quite a bit. ISU mainly runs man, right?

Yes...mainly man. As for the pigeons playing zone quite of bit....I don't know. I am curious to see if Fran thinks we won't shoot the three very well again this year. Remember, that is still our strength.

Iowa is a good team and is going to give us a handful. In my opinion, the keys to victory will be to limit turnovers, control the transition game, and contain Marble. While they have a handful of players that can give us issues, Marble is the only one that I feel raises a concern as long as we control the transition. White is basically invisible when he isn't getting a transition bucket, a lot of Gassels (sp?) points come off of turnovers/swing passes which came from transition, their remaining wings seem to rely on either Marble or Gassel to create for them, and their posts have some problems creating their own offense.
Our usual effort on the glass, hard work on D, smart offensive ball, and of course Hilton Magic should put us in a great position to win this thing. it's going to be a fun game to watch.

Nova showing that Iowa has problems running a halfcourt offense. They're just a whole different team when they're not out in transition.

Xavier was predicted to finish 6th and Nova 5th in the Big East. I doubt the Big East is any better than the Big Turd so what you saw from them is about right. A solid, middle of the pack Big Turd team. And speaking of big turds........KU doesn't find a shooter and start playing team ball like they give a s***, they are not winning any hardware this year.

Hogue is quick enough and big enough to cover Marble. Kane can also do the job.

With Iowa's size, Houge is going to be needed elsewhere. Hell, he could probably guard Woodbury and make Iowa run their offense thru him.

I'd take Utoff from the hawks I really like what he can do and reminds me a lot if Clyburn, and maybe Marble to provide depth and experience at guard. Other than that I'm happy with ISU's team and what they can do...

Kane or hogue maybe?

It really all depends who Iowa has on the floor.

to start the game I would assume the match ups will go as follows

Kane - Marble

Thomas - Gessel

Hogue - White

Ejim - Basabe

Niang - Woodbury
