I would agree on some. But the clones really are heads and above more athletic. I didn't say iowa's goofy looking players were unathletic, but they aren't in the same arena as the clones.

I was saying that in general about some of our fans. Most would say that White and Uthoff lack athleticism because of their appearance but that clearly isn't the case if you watch Iowa from an unbiased perspective. Now they aren't as athletic as say Hogue and Ejim, but they certainly aren't unathletic as some would have you believe.

Slightly more athletic than Jake Sullivan then?

Iowa's top 10 scorers:
1 Marble 16.8
2 White 13.8
3 Uthoff 10.0
4 Z McCabe 9.8
5 P Jok 7.4
6 G Olaseni 6.8
7 M Basabe 6.4
8 M Gesell 6.3
9 A Clemmons 5.3
10 A Woodbury 5.0

ISU's top 10 Scorers:
1 M Ejim 17.0
2 D Kane 15.0
3 D Hogue 12.0
4 G Niang 11.7
5 N Long 11.0
6 M Thomas 10.8
7 M Morris 8.0
8 S Dorsey-Walker 5.5
9 K Bluford 3.8
10 D Edozie 3.0

Our 1-7 produce more and their 8-10 produce more. Who cares.

God I'm sick of hearing about Iowa's depth. The way some make it out they have 54 guys that all play and get significant minutes. I guarantee that SDW, Edozie, and Gibson (our 7,8,9 guys) are just as good as Jok, Macabe, and whoever the hell their 9th guys is.
Also those are not our 7-9 guys.

Woodbury... this guy will be rendered ineffective against ISU. Quite frankly he can't even keep up with the pace his own team wants to play at so there is no way he will be able to keep up with ISU's pace of play.

To be fair we said that last year and he ate us up.

comments like this make me laugh, as if there is any possible way to quantify it.

Dumb**** Iowa fans like yourself make me laugh.

Fred is a rising star in coaching ranks and it is because of the system he has in place. Simply put... It works. He is a master of creating mismatches in the Clones favor. I know... I know... you can't quantify it. Hey... don't take my word for it though.

If Cal ever leaves……call Fred Hoiberg : Kentucky Sports Connection

I assume that this is an implied jimlad. 9 pts, 5 rebs, 2 to, 0 a, 0 stl and 0 b =\= "ate us up".
No jimlad. Of the 15 or so times I have seen Woodbury play it was the only time I was even remotely impressed by him. He played well. I would have guessed he had more than 9 pts. I guess "ate us up" was strong. Maybe should have said "didn't suck like he normally does"

I am sure I can find more. There might be one way to quantify just how good of a coach Hoiberg is when it comes to managing his roster, creating mismatches, x's and o's... and that is the opinion of college basketball writers, his peers in the coaching ranks, and NBA GM's that would love nothing more then to hire him to be their coach. Oh... I forgot to mention NCAA Tournament appearances as well.

Then again... JohnnyDugouts is just another moron hok fan who has no idea what he is talking about. Maybe he can provide links to all of the articles on "Let's Get Mad Again" Fran and all of the praise he is receiving. :wideeyed:

Ok, sorry, 8, 9, 10. Point is our bottom of the bench is just as skilled if not more so than their bottom of the bench. Difference is, they play theirs more.

I wouldn't say that's true at all. I think if you put SDW, Bluford, and Edozie on this Iowa team they're behind guys like McCabe, Olaseni, Uthoff, and Clemmons.

Bluford is our 11th guy. Uthoff is number 4, Clemmons is number 5, McCabe is number 6 for minutes played. You are not comparing apples to apples. I was talking our 8, 9, and 10 SDW, Edozie, and Percy in minutes played versus their 8, 9, and 10. The ones you listed were not their 8, 9, and 10.

Wasn't aware of what measure you were using to determine the order.

SDW, Bluford, Edozie would get zero min. on the Hawks, just like Meyer. ISU's top 7 matches up very well with Iowa's top7, but that is where it stops.

I guess you could go by ppg, in which case Uhtoff is third, and McCabe is fourth, still not comparing apples to apples. Point still stands, the bottom of our bench is just as skilled if not more so than the bottom of their bench, they just play theirs more.

Why do we keep bringing Bluford into this, he play very little for us, only in garbage time and is our 11th guy. SDW would not get zero minutes for the Hawks. I'm sorry, but that is silly. As "deep" as you guys go into your bench, and you wouldn't play a top 125 recruit.

Edozie and Gibson would get about zero min being behind White, Uthoff, McCabe, Basabe, Woodbury, and Olesani. SDW would battle JOk for a few min a game.
