Is it "Tiller-time" for Iowa State?

I enjoy the stuff from 33, well thought out and right on. Some of the personal attacks on his opinions are in bad taste. If you disagree, state your own opinion, but to attack the messenger because you disagree is immature and shows a lack respect. If someone believes AA is not doing the job, they have every right to say that. Same goes if you think he's doing well. But I could list those who appear to say "how dare you disagree with me on AA." You guys are truely the ones that are off base here, not 33. Grow up.

After reading the story in the Reg. today about Tiller being backup, some of you owe 33 an apology. How many on this board knew about
-Arnauds injury
-Tiller being backup
Only 33.......

Wow, what a thread. Dumb premise, but some great posts that I won't quote all of. This was a team loss, and if I were to blame it on anyone, it might be a player who quit two days before. It's over, it's done with, and it's time to move on, and kick some Husker booty.

I agree with you on most of these things 33. My beef, I guess you could say, is that we have TONS of issues on this football team, and you seem to be throwing it all on AA. To me, it seems as if you don't like him.

Losing to Iowa and UNLV was unacceptable. Blowing a 20 point lead was unacceptable. Losing to Baylor was not, it was HOW we lost to Baylor. Playing with no emotion is unacceptable. So I agree with you that a 4 game losing streak is unacceptable

The qb position is the most important position in team sports. Do well there and you cure a bunch of short falls.

Im not putting this on AA, Definately put it on everyone and the coaching staff.

I dunno, but i am excited for next saturday, You should see the guys eyes light up when you mention coming back to JTS, they love it here and have so much fun. I think we will look much better next weekend, being at home and with an embarassing loss to encourage a victory.

Infact, i cant wait, because i know this weekend will be something special. Its a feeling i only get when i know somethings going to change, I can feel it, i can see it in guys emotions, and im ready to get this thing in the right direction.

I'm glad to see 33 say this. I'm not going to pretend AA has been anything special - but nobody else has either. Old addage - QB gets too much credit, and too much blame.

I thought AA did a decent job of handling some pressure and unblocked blitzes Sat night. He tends to let the ball sail or throws high. But he also has been absolutely VICTIMIZED by more dropped passes than probably any two QBs in D1 football combined.

We want to look at places where momentum is destroyed - look no further than the drops. Quite possibly lost us the shot at KU. Sure as hell didn't help in Waco.

Unfortunately our plays are slower to develop than those for the other teams. The 88% qb we played just quickly flipped the ball out to the side and they were rolling. Our offense looks like slo mo. Not sure why.

Can you quote the attacks? Not all are going to blindly agree with someone - discussions of discourse can take place here without attacking.

Hey, guys, let's just call off the attacks altogether. No need to quote or keep them going - just try and be civil.

By playing just one qb very play the last six games limits our options duing games. We cannot afford him to get dinged. He must perform or we sink. That is lots of pressure on a young player. If JT plays some this year, it will better set him up for spring pravtice. I assume we will have mopre qb competition from outsiders in two or three years. When you have no practiced backup qb, you only limit the team. That is what Gene was doing with PB - getting him prepared as a backup although he at first appeared as in competition with AA. Maybe that was the straw that broke the committment. Name me one team that has pl;ayed a qb fort every snap the whole season except in pros during regular season. College is about having Plan Bs. Look at Nebraska and their backup - Patrick Witt....they also cannot afford Ganz to get dinged....they have invested little in having a backup and it may hurt them late this year...

I doubt it ever hits media, which is good. He played through it saturday night, but it could still be bothering him later this week. He should be alright.

I guess I don't quite understand...since AA had a not so good game your almost ready to give up on him and bring in Tiller and throw away a redshirt. That makes no sense if this is your thinking. If we need him, yes use him and take away the redshirt. But just to get him ready, I believe is not the way to go.
