Well attendance is great right now, especially considering fans are talking about Hilton Magic being dead.

No matter how Wayne got the job, he was getting the job done better then Mac has in his first three years.

Lets face it, if you fire a coach after three seasons when he has gone to the NCAA Tournament and the NIT Final Four, you are laying pretty high expectations on the next coach.

For me those expecatations have not been met and the comparison between the two situtations will continue until those expectations are met.

So for taking a job no one else wanted and achieving a winning record with two post seasons births in three years...we penalize Morgan as soon as someone says they are interested? And then use attendance and direction as the reason? How is attendance and direction looking now? Oh yeah....we have Colvin, Dykstra and Gilstrap coming. And how much rope did players like Degand, Taggert, Stinnet, Westbrooke give Morgan? As for not using Morgan as the bar for GMac.......exactly what else do we have? Why did we hold Morgan to such high standards.....but now relax them with GMac? What happened to the house that Johnny, TF and LE built? That Wayne Morgan was fired for? If what Morgan did was good enough to get fired after three years, then what GMac has done thus far is more than enough to be on the hot seat!

Mac had only 4 less wins than Morgan did in his NCAA yr in his first year...with a skeleton of a team.

Very Very Well Put. Now be prepared to be eaten by sharks wearing cardinal and gold colored glasses.

Everything that people say Mac is doing well, other then recruiting white kids from Iowa and Nebraska, Morgan did just as well if not better.

Morgan won basketball games. Had marquee wins @KU, @ Texas, @Florida State, Texas at home, Virginia @ home, Marquette to go the NIT Final Four, Big 12 Tournament Victories, agaist Minnesota in the NCAA Tournament.

What are GMac's big wins? Give me one game where you point to that and say, "Yep, that was a huge win for Mac. He beat a really good team."

Again
1-7 against the MVC
1-19 against teams that finished in the top half of the Big 12 (the one was against Missouri in his 1st Big 12 game ever)
0 Big 12 Tournament Wins
0-9 vs Ranked Opponents

If those numbers don't deserve some heat I don't know what does.

He has no interest in coaching anymore, he's making plenty of money doing what he is now and spending more time with his family... Beleive me, he isn't climbing any ladders either, just cashing checks...

Agree. Let's also not forget the scheduling scandal that was going on at the time that seems to have been lost (which is all for the better).

This thread is embarrassing. The "firing" BS in college sports is out of control. Give me some freaking stability. Gmac is recruiting pretty well, lets see what he can do with some better players.

As far as firing BS in colleges, compare that to the bball pros who are up to six fired before XMAS. That is a 20% haircut.

Tims are changing.

Just look how many CEOs were bounced to the street in the last year. Most of the banking big names are now on hiatus.

I have no interest in any other job too .... but then again, no one is calling either....

I guess WM and I have one thing in common... we aren't being recruited.

He owns his own company.

Has his own store with employees.

Sets his own hours

Cashes checks

Sounds like a terrible job.

Not terrible.. just NO WHERE NEAR BASKETBALL.

that is my point.

He won, Mac isn't... Thats all I need to know...

Again, I'm not saying Mac needs to go, but piling on Wayne is just stupid... Mac has no excuses at this point for the team to be this bad...

You mean we beat someone from the MVC? Who was that school?

Seriously? We all complain about how the NCAA has it out for Iowa State and we get sanctioned for everything we do and this just disappears?

It didn't just go away. The NCAA looked into it and every coach on the staff has a letter from the NCAA stating that nothing illegal occured.

You didn't see that because it was burried on page 6, unlike when Pollard leaked the story to some no-name reporter and it was front page news.
